Hmm I have to go with either Contra...I olved that game but hard as HELL to win at I still have some trouble with it. Then again they have the very first Mario...thats probably my favorite old skool. Then duck hunt was very nice though I was little when I played it and always held the gun up right to the screen xD who didnt?

I never tried sega was very tempted as a kid to play sonic as I watched the show heh. I never played Zelda old skool, FF series old skool, and sonic sadly.

THANK YOU!!! I have been trying recently to remember the name of a game I was hooked on back in the day with my NES, this is it!!!

RiverCity was good but..... I would say by far it was StarFlight for the pc (my IBM XT 4.7mhz with monochrome video  ), I still have it...

Zork. Text based adventure game. I played that for hours when I was so young I could barely type properly, on an old Nixdorf """""laptop""""" computer. I need to point out that it would crush your lap if you put it there. Then I played it again a few years later and got some way through it. Never finished it though.

I just downloaded an abandonware version of Zork (I'm under the impression that abandonware is legal(ish)). Our only version is one a giant floppy disk, that is actually *floppy*. I'll finish it this time...
