Default Settle this...

I have been having an argument with a friend about which type of game is better: first person shooter or RPG, and which takes the most skill. Tell me which one you think is better, and why, so i can rub this in his face.

I would probably say FPS cos you get to aim as was said above and its a more immersive gaming genre generally as you have to think about so many things rather than justaimlessy running around hitting one attck button as you norally do in RPG's

My choice would be FPS. In a FPS game, you need to be aware of all kinds of things at the same time. While this may also apply to a RPG, the FPS is much more fast paced.

depends. FPS takes better hand/eye co-ordination yet RPG's tend to take more tactical thinking.

In a game like UT2004 you need a lot of skill to take in everything around you, and to aim at people quickly, as the action is so fast-paced. But in some FPS games you don't need much skill. But I think any online FPS game requires skill.

In RPGs it's more focused on character building, which doesn't take too much skill from what little experience I have about the genre. It depends if the RPG you're playing is complecated to get a good character up. RPGs demand patience more than skill I would say.
