I've been playing americas army for a while and every now and then i manage to obtain a sniper rifle weather it be the barret or the M24. Now i was playing bridge crossing today and a opfor ran into my los so i put the crosshairs over him, fired but the shot missed, now i know there is the small matter of the breathing cycle but surely u cannot wait for the right opportunity coz u may not get to shoot again.
Could anybody preferably experianced snipers provide some advice or identify where i'm going wrong, I have no problems with the spr for the special forces guys its just the M82 and M24 and which is the better rifle or are they both the same.
i also watched a guy snipe 6 ppl from the crouched position, how is that possible when when i try it the scope swing around far too much?
you can snipe from the crouched position, you just have to control the movement of the sniper rifle with your mouse eg: if you rifle is moving down and to the right, you need to compensate by moving your mouse up and to the left to stay on target.
The best way to try and combat lag is positioning yourself on a busy path facing the oncoming enemy. It is much easier to hit a target moving right towards you than perpendicular.
have u tryed leading him?... if u dont know what leading is its where u have shoot in front of a moving target becuase it takes a split second for the bullet to reach its target?
If you want to improve at America's Army, try playing Operation Flashpoint, it is much more difficult but once you go back to America's Army you will have learned many new things that will make sniping a breeze.
I agree with Ensign Riles if you play Operation Flashpoint
you will almost become a master at sniping in Americas
Army, or what game and weapon you'll use. Operation is
pretty tough when you first start playing, but once you get
the hang of it, you'll become a pretty good gamer.
Hey, just thought i would throw in a few facts that i know of about the 2 Rifles.. of the 2, the Barrett is the more powerful weapon (Packing a 5.52 NATO (More commonly used for shooting out armour targets (you can see what i mean in SWAT, a barrett is used to shoot out the rotor on a helicoptor.))
The Barrett will shoot dead center, though it has a large throwback.
the M24 (a smaller shot, reduced recoil and gas powered (meaning you have about 2 seconds to wait between shots (but you knew that), however, the M24 *Usually* can be relied on to fire just out of dead center (At least it did in 2.0, I've nto played in a while.) from memory it fires up and right of center, usually between your Arc markers (the lil dots).
I think there is a reason it did this too... It's called Snatching, when your trigger pull isn't smooth, seeing as there is no depth control on your pull i think snatching has been put in as a little challenge... (though i could just be wrong :P)
The barrett does not shoot 5.56 nato. 5.56 nato is what the m16 and the SAW shoot. The Barrett shoots .50 calibur rifle bullet. It's purpose is to take out material more often than people because of it's large size and armor piercing capability. The M24 (bolt action) rifle shoots a 7.62 nato round. Or .308 standard. That rifle was designed soley for the military for anti-personnel use. The 7.62/.308 can go through some armor, but it can not penetrate say a stryker fighting vehicles armor. just some hints. the Barrett .50 cal will almost always kill in one shot, whereas the m24 I've been hit three times by it before I was taken down. if your using the barrett you can be a bit sloppy, if you've got the m24 then aim for the Heart, spine, neck, skull, or abdomen.
