Thank god bf2 isnt going to be made by the canadians. BFV sucked, but bf1942 was pretty cool. At this point i would actually rather play 42.

theonly thing UT2k4 and the bf series have inc ommon is that you have to shoot and kill stuff... 0_o

meh, I'm sceptic about it. I think it'll turn out just like doom 3: shiny graphics and medicore gameplay.

bfv flopped because it wasn't a new game. it was bf'42 with new graphics and boring new maps. it could sure as hell have been the addon secret weapons and road to rome weren't.

BFV was fun for a while.

Vietnam was choked by poor netcode and crappy game balance..i hated it.. Bf1942 rocked however...and so wil BF2.

battlefield vietnam is lack luster, it's fun, but it's very badly balanced, Classes wise are nice that they changed them up so the teams don't have the same things, but thats where alot of the bad balance comes from, the US team has a much better combo of weapons, like the M79 launcher and the M60 Machine Gun. The M16 is way too accuate, the SA-7 is pretty much useless since it takes about 3 hits to bring down a helichopter.

The napalm bug sucks hard, the MI-8 is rather out matched by the huey gunship, the vietcong boats are rather useless and more of a coffin then a boat, it's very slow. The BTR-60 has all of it's hatches open for some odd reason, when they were always closed during combat, plus the driver had a parascope to look thru when the hatch was closed.

Maps are rather unfair, since the US team always gets about 5 aircrafts on most maps and the NVA are almost always stuck on the ground trying to stop helicopters with the highly unrealistic SA-7's.

What about in the v1.1 patch? In that case BFV is a lot better than the unpatched version.

Isnt that the whole point though, that in direct combat the Vietcong is outgunned and outmatched, but then, I'm a man for realism over balance!

Battlefield 2 looks awsome btw!

it takes most of the fun of playing as charlie out of the game, that's why I never bought it.

It's not realistic though. Since when does it take 3 rockets to shoot down a helichopter? is that realistic? I say it more about being baised.

I think I'll get the X-box version. It's the exact same game, people. Battlefield: Modern Combat.


The only ways I'd get BF2 is if

a) It is cheaper

B) The HumVees on BF:MC fail to have doors.

Well this means you'll have to wait over a year until BF:MC comes out(Remember that DICE said the planned to add SP campaign in it so its release is delayed till August 2005)
