bfv flopped because it wasn't a new game. it was bf'42 with new graphics and boring new maps. it could sure as hell have been the addon secret weapons and road to rome weren't.

BFV was fun for a while.

Battlevield vietnam IS GREAT. Battlefield 2 is going to be excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vietnam was choked by poor netcode and crappy game balance..i hated it.. Bf1942 rocked however...and so wil BF2.

battlefield vietnam is lack luster, it's fun, but it's very badly balanced, Classes wise are nice that they changed them up so the teams don't have the same things, but thats where alot of the bad balance comes from, the US team has a much better combo of weapons, like the M79 launcher and the M60 Machine Gun. The M16 is way too accuate, the SA-7 is pretty much useless since it takes about 3 hits to bring down a helichopter.

The napalm bug sucks hard, the MI-8 is rather out matched by the huey gunship, the vietcong boats are rather useless and more of a coffin then a boat, it's very slow. The BTR-60 has all of it's hatches open for some odd reason, when they were always closed during combat, plus the driver had a parascope to look thru when the hatch was closed.

Maps are rather unfair, since the US team always gets about 5 aircrafts on most maps and the NVA are almost always stuck on the ground trying to stop helicopters with the highly unrealistic SA-7's.
