What's 'ping'? When you are viewing a list of servers in a multiplayer game one row is entitled 'ping' what's that? |
Re: What's 'ping'? ... It is the amount of time in milliseconds that it takes to send packets of information between the client (You) and the server. Of course the lower the number, the faster the game will appear to run. Try and aim for servers with a ping of less than 175. |

Re: What's 'ping'? The pign rate, is the time it takes information to go from your computer, to the server and back again to your computer. The time is measured in milliseconds (a very small amount of time). High numbers= bad lag Medium high numbers=lag low numbers=no lag Easy. |
Re: What's 'ping'? Yeah I preferably play in servers pinging less then 50 for high performance. If they are over 150 they are probably across the planet from you. If you are in Europe and server ping is 150 it is American, and vise versa. |
Re: What's 'ping'? The amount of time in milliseconds to transfer data between client and server, something like that. |
Re: What's 'ping'? It is amazing how everyone repeats everyone else. |
Re: What's 'ping'? HAHA!! I was just thinking that |
Re: What's 'ping'? Ping Time is affected by 3 things 1. Location(closer the better) 2. Computer speed(Faster the better) 3. ISP(DSL/Cable are the best for your money) |

Re: What's 'ping'? And low numbers do not mean no lag. I highly doubt you are playing the game in real time. Even a ping of 1 would mean it took .001 seconds for the data from the host to arrive to you. |
