Shooters(first person and third person)
Exploder

Well I read a review that says DX:IW sucks ass because you repeat the cycle of getting an objective to go kill one or more people till the end than he says

Quote:
Avoid this game at all costs!
Well, if some people don't like it that way, then sorry, you will never enjoy any shooter game, because virtually all other shooters have the same sort of objectives except the target may not always be human.

well, actually it isnt a very fun game. when I first bought it I thought it was going to be like Morrowind, where everything in the world was open, and you could just walk around doing missions or just killing people and finding better stuff. oh well.

To be honest, yeah, we're running out of originality, making things kinda boring. I mean look, really, look at the games this year. All sequels. GT4, San Andreas, Halo 2, HL2, RE4, etc. etc. etc. So, it's tough to say they're not all the same. Without one element in a game, it could be crap. Seriously, if Halo didn't have vehicles, it would have been average. Just one thing. So, they can say that about Deus Ex, but I think it's awesome. I'd give it an 8.25, it's a good game. Screw reviewers...they suck. Mostly. Mostly...lol

There are still some game that have innovation. Take the eye toy. They are comming out with a skatboadring game that will utlize the eye toy. But now manny games are lacking innovation. Lets hope 3d televisions come out some day. Right now all tv pictures dont "jump out" unless you have 3d glasses. Btw what is the full name of the game you were talking about exploder?

Any shooter.

Also my classmate in school said:"Shooters are the most pointless games ever. you just mindlessly go around shooting people is so boring, and GTA Vice CIty is only for 3 year olds so babyish and childish."

So I told him:" Instead of buying those games that ruin your life, you instead should buy a shotgun and destroy your computer."

I disagree with what my classmate said. COMPLETELY.

Shooters are all basically the same. That's why they've got their own genre. Same with RTS games and RPG games. It's the execution of them that makes them good or bad. For example, a shooter with crap AI will be boring. A shooter with guns that feel like they're made of plastic won't be as immersive. A shooter with no story line IS just a random 'blow crap up' game. Some games evolve the genre; Doom is really what kicked it all off, Half-Life was totally immersive with no cut-scenes and great AI and mod support, JK2 introduced decent melee combat amidst the guns, games like BF1942 revitalised multiplayer... they're all exactly the same when it comes down to it, but they take the genre a little further each time.

Does Operation Flashpoint fall under FPS or another category?

If it is FPS I would have to disagree with all games allowing you to randomly run all over the place mindlessly killing. I almost hesitate before shooting someone just because they feel so real.
