i wonder why there isn't a single player (3d shooter) like this. Maybe gamedevelopers think that this games would't sell that good? or that the "sociaty" qould consider this kind of game "wrong"? IMO there is nothing wrong with it as long as you don't have to shoot jews/transport jews etc. There is nothing wrong with a singleplayer game where you play a german soldier in the regular army during ww2. They ould even make a level where you could shorten the war by giving you the oppertunity to assassinate Hitler. (maybe somewhere on the end of the game, where you gained much faim because of your actions, you are invited on some kind of special parade/party and there you can -but don't have too- kill hitler or some other highranking nazi OR you could betray your comrades and tell the gestapo about the plot).
hell, they make a game where you play as a german soldier I'd buy it (if it ever came out for mac >_<)

It's because the axis are normally known as the "bad guys" and the allies are the good guys. And of course the axis lose so you can't really "win"(...)
yup, the axis are "the bad guys" and they did lose BUT if the game focussus (sp?) on the first part of the war ('39-'42) you can win many battles (and mayne even win the war (if the just had to go on after '42). Notice that 98% of the ww2 games starts around '42 when the axis began to lose? There are very few games where the game starts in '39, they almost all start around '42. No game where the polish are defeated, western-europe (the netherlands, belgium, luxembourg, france etc.) are overrun northen europe (norway, sweden, finland) are being attacked. So a game like this could take place in a very differnet enviroment (time, units, strenght etc.) and show the war from a different perspective.
PS: O/T but why do so many games let you choose/spwan you as allies by default? When i play Battlefield 1942 i always have to select axis before i can select a kit and spawn. This kind of games should give you the option (in the settings menu) to decide which team you like to be on by default. OR as other games do: make an intro-screen where you have to choose between axis and allied.
well how much real fighting was there? atleast compared to the later parts of the war, sure there was but nothing like the back and forth battles of early-mid 40's anyway
try a game called IL-2 very good fight sim you can be romanian, russian, german, polish, etc etc in SP mode, and even more on MP plus IL-2: FB and the new ex-pack
We have all played through Call of Duty, and Medal of Honor. Ever notice one thing? You are always playing as allies. Why not make a game that is in reverse in situation? I know it is a sensitive issue, and I am not racist or neo, but honestly the germans were in general people too fighting and dieing for their country too. I personally think that a game or even expansion of Call of Duty, would be awesome if it were based as an opposing force.
What do you think?
when you say "and i am not racist or neo..."
is this any referral to me and the name i had up until earlier this week ?

Yes, this post is ALL about you, we are constantly talking about YOU... Maybe you should read the ENTIRE message? It is about a single player game based on a charactor on the axis side, instead of allies.
