That is what would make the game interesting... What missions would you play? People forget that the axis had MANY victories, France, Norway, Africa, etc.. What would happen to your charactor? Would you survive the war? A game with a twist....
I am glad to have caught your attention, I am just a World War 2 history, and gaming buff with a thought...
indeed! I would love to play as an axis soldier in a game (singleplayer) . They just would have to create a game that would run from 1939 (invation of Poland) to 1942 (battle of stalingrad) when the balance began to shift.
it would be cool.
i was told before call of duty came out that the single player missions would play like this: american, british, russian then axis. and was disapointed when i found it did not i still think it is a gr8 game but i would love to play the axis in single player for once.
Yeah but the problem is, it won't be possible to play some the well known missions (omaha, pegasus, stalingrad etc.) because the out come is the Allies being victorious and it doesn't exactly make very good game where the player is forced to loose most of the missions to progress through.
uhhm... germany has achieved more military goals in 3 years than most nations did in their entire excistance...
invasion of poland 1939, conquered after 2-3 months
invasion of holland belgium & luxemburg 1940, conquerd after a week
invasion of france 1940, conquered after 1 month eventhough the french had a superior armed force.
invasion of the balkans 1940, conquered after 2-3 months (with a little help from mussolini)
invasion of northern africa 1940, the allies got their asses kicked in africa in the first few years of the war. german supplying is what made them lose, not montgommery, as most of you brits like to believe.
invasion of russia 1941, the germans conquered a section of russia almost the size of europe in under a year. winter and supplying cost them the war, not allied power or heroism as most of you like to believe.
domination of the atlantic ocean for over 2-3 years. during the first few years of the war hardly any allied ships were safe from the german wolfpacks. and then the allies had to invent radar and break the enigma code...
I'd say there's more than enough to create a game based on the german military achievements of WW2...
Ahhh, i never said that germany hadn't achieved anything, just that the famous battles (for the allies anyway) won't be able to included, or if they do, the objective would all be the same - Retreat from the Allied advance
In all seriousness though, getting the German perspective of the war would kick ass, learning about all the famous german victories and i would especially like to take part in Operation Market Garden. Poor British...lol
