Well, I wouldn't exactly say that, the PSX 2 and the Cube can always surprise you, however I am quite looking forward to Fable, can't wait for it to be released this year.

i got xbox AND ps2, but i think i like xbox a tad more....with all the games that are coming out and are out. true crimes is awsome

First of all, True Crime is a cheap knock off of Grand Theft Auto - I could easily get that enjoyment through Vice City, and alot more of it to.

I think we can all agree, the Cube is a joke, so it comes down to XBox and PS2. The XBox has some monster games, but it doesn't have Final Fantasy, SOCOM, Virtua Fighter 4, Xenosaga: Episode 1, Tenchu 3: Wrath of Heaven, Summoner 2, Resident Evil Code Veronica X, Kingdom Hearts, or Twisted Metal Black. These are games I could never part with in trade for an XBox. The XBox is more powerful, it can handle higher quality, but so far that hasn't proven to be to much of a plus. You have to pay to play your online games. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing the Box has on PS2 is that you can blast it with a 22 calibur pistol and not leave a dent.

Eh, don't even mention Twin Snakes, Im sickened enough as it is. The problem with them adopting Sonic as a 'mascot', they have yet to come up with a really good Sonic game, the new Sonic Heroes just doesnt cut it either.

I guess SH is okay, Id give it a seven. I don't really have anything against Nintendo, except that I feel cheated by them. The N64 was awesome, theyve produced the best consoles and the best games, and now come round the new console generation, all they could think up was the frikkin Gamecube? I mean c'mon! Its a frikkin cube! Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they could back it up with a nice big library of games, but no, not only do they have infact a very small variety of games, but their aren't very many good ones exclusively for the system. So theres my beef with nintento.

2. viewtiful joe
3. mario kart double dash

I think people saw that Sony was just a better console. The thing was, Gamecube tapped into another group of consumers, parents who didnt know anything about games or gaming with their kids who hardly knew about any gaming name aside from Maria, browsed around, saw Gamecube to be more "child friendly", which in fact it is, and then saw 100 bucks to seal the deal. I mean cmon, those cheapasses at XBox and Sony hardly price dropped at all. We expected at least down to 140-130 on a brand new system, Nintendo took down 80 bucks or so, and it worked out. I congradulate them for that in making a good marketing move.

The thing is, the much younger audience that Gamecube caters to can't really tell much of a difference between games, unless its REALLY crappy. Theyll have fun with just about anything, so the thing with Gamecube and its limited amount of good games doesnt really harm them. Which would cause one to wonder, has this ability to keep up without producing good games like Sony and Microsoft made Nintendo purposely not try harder to bring a good variety of games? I should hope not, it would really hurt to know that Nintendo would sell out there most diehard fans to something like that.

shut up fanboy, Sony only has this lead because they released their console 2 years earlier than the cube and the xbox. with no competition Sony sold shitloads of ps2's. you could actually compare it with the GBA and with the PSP being launched soon... the GBA has a GIGANTOMOUS lead, just because nintendo had a monopoly position for 3 years straight...:uhm:

every console has its stong and weak points. it all comes down to waht games you enjoy and hom much you can afford for the base system. i play and have enjoyed games on all three but none other than sony made we want to really go out and buy another system. (wow thats awful sentence structure :rolleyes: )

well, give me one good reason why your out-dated DVD player is better than the xbox and the gamecube...
the only one I can think of is because the PS2 has about 500 games more than both the gamecube and the xbox, but the majority is crappy anyway.(not all, I like some ps2 games like ratchet & clank and stuff)

JP that is such a load. The majority of PS2 games are crappy?! You mention Ratchet & Clank, and thats it. PS2 has a much bigger library of great games than the XBox. You didnt even mention SOCOM, or FFX, or Red Faction, or Grand Theft Auto III-Vice City (which may be on XBox now, but it originated from PS2!!) or Jak II, I could go on an on! Not to mention all the fabulous games on PlayStation that you can play on PS2, the systems library of great games can simply not be matched. If we were to list all the agreeably great games played on PS2 and XBox, you know PS2 would beat XBox, and thats what it all comes down to. Not the graphics or any of that junk, people who base their gaming on things like graphics are total noobs. The XBox may be capable of better graphics, but it hasnt got enough games that are so insanely polished in the graphics department that it would even count as a system plus. The ones that do are never good enough to make a difference in the enjoyment of the game.

You forgot to mention that more than half the games are PS1 as well!
I don't see the PS2 getting Halo 2. The only reason I would buy a PS2 is for FFX and FFX-2. I don't have these in my collection.

XBOX rules. Halo, DOA 3. 'Nuff said. (XBOX got DOA3, PS2 didn't. We're also getting DOA4 and DOA Online, not to mention BC and Fable)

I didn't say that, I used to have a PS2 but I sold it after a while because the cube came out. The PS2 has quite a lot of good games, I won't argue with you about that bit, but what I said was: the majority of the PS2 games are either crappy or very short or lack originality. and guess what? most do.
but the same goes for the cube and the xbox I guess... but not on sucha large scale as on the PS2 :uhm:
