marriage - yes or no?

well i know in the US the supreme court said it was legal for same-sex couples to have sex... (as if anyone should have control for who can **** who (gender wise))... i dont know much about contracts or whatnot, but im glad they finally got their heads out of their @sses and decided to let people live their own lives.

I agree. I don't think this applies for every US state, but I know that in some states it is illegal to marry your own gender. That to me, is ridiculous. Who are they to tell you who you can and cannot marry? They say that the US is a "free country", but how is it free if they tell us that we can't marry the person we love just because they are younger than us or because they're the same sex as us. Wasn't there a big interracial dating dibute a few decades ago? Come on, this is really no different. They still need to get their heads out of their arses if you ask me.

If you look at it this way, Amanda, you can somewhat understand why some would keep it illegal. In many circles h0mosexuality is considered an aberrant tendency that shouldn't be legitimized or validated. Technically, nature does support this theory in that the way physical interaction is supposed to occur is between man and woman, that's why we're designed the way we are. They equate h0mosexuality with other warped mindsets like pedophilia, beastiality, etc. By making one such abnormal behavior socially acceptable, you open the door to the others. So I'd say a large part of the reason gay marriage et al aren't legal all across the board is due to that way of thinking.

Now before anyone jumps on me, I'm only pointing out a way of thinking that keeps the current laws in place, not speaking my own views on the subject.

And i see where you are coming from Van - but even though its not 'legal' to screw your donkey, there seems to be no end to the films of it online. Some fetishes should stay illegal, though - like pedophiles (although i dont think that is defined as a 'fetish'). But can they say smelling someone's feet is illegal? I can tell how it would be traumatizing if they smelled like hell, but still.. not illegal.

and if nature didnt want to men to have sex, then they should have found another place for the poop-shoot & prostate gland - also, they wouldnt have allowed gene variation that supplied the desire.

Although the US of A is supposed to be a free country, the Christian fanatics have a terrifyingly large influence in the public. Some palces the general sentiment seems to be imbued with religiously dictated opinions.
