well i know in the US the supreme court said it was legal for same-sex couples to have sex... (as if anyone should have control for who can **** who (gender wise))... i dont know much about contracts or whatnot, but im glad they finally got their heads out of their @sses and decided to let people live their own lives.

Cpt. Someguy July 5th, 2003 06:45 PM

yeah, the govt needs to stay away from ppl's personal lives.

Amanda July 5th, 2003 08:30 PM

I agree. I don't think this applies for every US state, but I know that in some states it is illegal to marry your own gender. That to me, is ridiculous. Who are they to tell you who you can and cannot marry? They say that the US is a "free country", but how is it free if they tell us that we can't marry the person we love just because they are younger than us or because they're the same sex as us. Wasn't there a big interracial dating dibute a few decades ago? Come on, this is really no different. They still need to get their heads out of their arses if you ask me.

If you look at it this way, Amanda, you can somewhat understand why some would keep it illegal. In many circles h0mosexuality is considered an aberrant tendency that shouldn't be legitimized or validated. Technically, nature does support this theory in that the way physical interaction is supposed to occur is between man and woman, that's why we're designed the way we are. They equate h0mosexuality with other warped mindsets like pedophilia, beastiality, etc. By making one such abnormal behavior socially acceptable, you open the door to the others. So I'd say a large part of the reason gay marriage et al aren't legal all across the board is due to that way of thinking.

Now before anyone jumps on me, I'm only pointing out a way of thinking that keeps the current laws in place, not speaking my own views on the subject.

Thank you and good night. :p

EDIT: Damn filter - forcin' me to sub a zero in for an O.

thats what i said, amanda

And i see where you are coming from Van - but even though its not 'legal' to screw your donkey, there seems to be no end to the films of it online. Some fetishes should stay illegal, though - like pedophiles (although i dont think that is defined as a 'fetish'). But can they say smelling someone's feet is illegal? I can tell how it would be traumatizing if they smelled like hell, but still.. not illegal.

and if nature didnt want to men to have sex, then they should have found another place for the poop-shoot & prostate gland - also, they wouldnt have allowed gene variation that supplied the desire.

Although the US of A is supposed to be a free country, the Christian fanatics have a terrifyingly large influence in the public. Some palces the general sentiment seems to be imbued with religiously dictated opinions.

Vikki July 6th, 2003 03:44 AM

well when you have a pledge of allegeance, and coins that say 'under one god we trust' it makes it difficult to keep church separate from state ::shurgs:: too bad our founding fathers decided it to be that way.

Str8tKiller July 6th, 2003 12:41 PM

blah, blah, blah, if you have doubts get out of it.

Dreadnought[DK] July 6th, 2003 02:38 PM

"Serious" words from a newbie :uhoh:

Well, it wasn't where I was coming from, but yeah. I like to play devil's advocate. :p

Vikki July 6th, 2003 05:13 PM

its good to gave a little opinion - even if its not what you believe - just bring up a new point of view

Vanthem July 6th, 2003 05:22 PM

Yep. Not that all of us sitting around agreeing with each other and patting ourselves on the back wouldn't be equally entertaining. :fistpunch:

Vikki July 6th, 2003 05:36 PM

lmao thats true van (that would be a cold day in hell when (if) that could happen) - you are hilarious

Vanthem July 6th, 2003 06:00 PM

Bumpkin humor wins! Heh heh.

Vikki July 6th, 2003 11:06 PM

i finally came upon the realization of what the n00b was saying (hope he doesnt take offence) - if you doubt something in the marriage get out.

**i think mentality like that is why we came upon the subject of high divorce rates anyways **

If that was his point, then it was badly stated.:lookaround:

Vikki July 7th, 2003 01:04 AM

and i thoroughly agree

Vanthem July 7th, 2003 01:40 AM

Although it's possible he was instituting a clever ploy to change the topic of conversation. :agreed:

Dreadnought[DK] July 7th, 2003 03:08 AM

If so, his attempt eludes me :uhm:

WOMEN THAT ARE LIBERATED RULES

i recon women now that they are liberated in most countries is great..:agreed: there playing cool games..making chooses that were once made bye short ,sighted, narrow minded guys..:uhoh: and thats were the problems came in......now there is a morning after pill in australia.....for teenage chicks that have suss parents ...they cant talk to this must be a great thing.?iam not predjadeced i just like girls alot :smokin:

Vikki July 7th, 2003 09:30 AM

I think the morning after pill is a good thing, when it is used... sparingly. I know a girl who refuses to wear a condom, and she has had 7 abortions. That is ridiculous. I know this isnt a topic we need to get into detail about on the forums (it will only lead to controversy) So i am going to drop it at that..

I guess its a good thing, though, that we can be in control of what we want to do - youre right - liberation is great.
