Mind if I ask why you're interested?

I mean, according to my family, those on my mum's side of things were supposedly Viking invaders, and those on my dad's side of things were supposedly Norman invaders, and I couldn't be less interested because only one of them (an able seaman on HMS Victory, therefore 'just happened to be below decks at the time of a major historical moment but couldn't even see what was going on') has ever done anything remotely noteworthy.

I just don't understand the appeal myself, hence the question. Unless you already suspect some kind of link to greatness and you're after validation.

Something to be careful of with those places is people like to connect themselves to someone famous, so take every connection with a grain of salt.

Kind of like how every white person in America claims to be the dissident of one of 135 people on the Mayflower.

That's what I mean. There's ALL KINDS of info out there but no connections that are close to half-way solid.
