Well, your desktop may be on top of your desk, but, well, you know.
So I recently have invested in some upgrades to my study here and I now have a new 27" monitor, so I've decided to go with a funky dual screen setup, one for reading and messaging and one screen for the main action. I've also invested in some mood lighting to make the place all colourfied (the one in the corner changes colour slowly.)
Incidentally, the only reason I'm using a crappy old Dell laptop is because I'm unemployed, and therefore my computer has exploded again. I think it's the graphics card this time.

Looks like an Inspiron, I had one of those for a couple of years. They are not too bad. Why don't you connect it to your monitor and other peripherals?

It is, yes! An Inspiron 1501. And it wasn't bad when I bought it in 2006. It has merely become bad. Plus I hate using laptops usually; I'm one of those old-fashioned folks who believes a laptop is used only when a desktop is inaccessible.
I sometimes hook it up to my TV, which is on the stand to the right in the photo, and use a wireless keyboard and mouse (there's already a cable leading to the TV from the desktop, which is handy). But when I'm working at the desk, there isn't really enough room for the laptop if I have it hooked up to the monitor and a separate keyboard.

Thanks, FT. But I already have a friend with a part waiting for me to get it, I just haven't got around to it yet. Plus, it'd just explode again. You'll notice that I've been unemployed three times since 2003 (once when I left college, once when I was made redundant from the paper, and now), and each time my computer (whichever computer it has been) has exploded.
'Tis fate.

Here is my desk. I don't like it being to cluttered. My husband has the same type of desk as mine, has a monitor the same size has mine also, but his is a mess. I can't stand it! Lol. I'm also hoping to get a new gaming mouse! ^^
Jesus fucking Christ Silby; do you usually keep all of your worldly possessions on your desk? At least the rest of your house will look empty and clean by comparison!
