Selectively answering the ones I know off the top of my head...

EDIT: I looked up italicized answers.

1) Probably Bullet Ant, but it would vary by person (Schmidt sting pain index)
2) time
3) Neither have legs, but the fastest plane is faster than the fastest car.
4) There's no fucking smoke you ignorant slut
5) Identity of specific inventer is unknowable (wikipedia)

That is the current thinking. But, hopefully it will be really clever and entertaining!

Re: IQ And General Knowledge Quiz 1

I fail to see how this is a general knowledge quiz; which I've always thought of more as things that are useful to know - or at least which you could reasonably expect most people to know; this appears to be more a trivia selection. But what the hey:

1- Sting of which insect is the most painful?
This seems like to vary depending on things like how allergic you are to certain insects.
2- A chronometer is/was used to measure _______.
Time
3- Which runs faster: the fastest airplane or the fastest car?
Planes travel much faster than cars - assuming that's the definition of run you're using and we're comparing like for like.
4- An electric train is travelling north-east with a speed of 240 mph. In which direction will its smoke travel? Up - South - Northwest - Southeast - none of these.
None
5- Chess was invented by ______.
I don't believe the person who invented chess is known.
6- Which type of [human] fighter delivers the most powerful/forceful strike? Write the name of fighting style.
No clear data in this regard. It's unlikely the variance in terms of force is significant however or everyone would know about it.
7- Does an infant human have more bones, less bones or equal bones than an adult?
-shrug- More I'd imagine since I seem to recall something a few years back about some of them merging as you got older.
8- In myths of different cultures, which animals can take a human shape? Write names of at least two.
Two what; cultures, myths or animals?
9- Astronauts wear space suits to save them from the extreme pressure in the space. True or false?
False.
10- Two cars are standing facing opposite directions. The distance between them is 0 meters. They both start and run for 4 km. Then they both turn to their right, run for another 3 km and stop there. What is the distance between the cars when they stop?
The longest side of the triangle defined in the usual way and with the other two sides as 8 and 6km. Can't be bothered to work it out at the moment.

Re: IQ And General Knowledge Quiz 1

1- Sting of which insect is the most painful? Hmmm probably the killer ant. I imagine death would be unpleasant.

2- A chronometer is/was used to measure _______. Is it used or was it used? Make up your fucking mind!!!!!

3- Which runs faster: the fastest airplane or the fastest car? Nothing can outrun my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire.

4- An electric train is travelling north-east with a speed of 240 mph. In which direction will its smoke travel? Up - South - Northwest - Southeast - none of these. Given wind speeds, wind direction, high/low pressure zones.... none of those.

5- Chess was invented by ______. Dr. Chess

6- Which type of [human] fighter delivers the most powerful/forceful strike? Write the name of fighting style. Schwarzenegger fighting style: cyborg

7- Does an infant human have more bones, less bones or equal bones than an adult? I tell you what man I got a bone right now that I know that an infant doesn't have lmao..

8- In myths of different cultures, which animals can take a human shape? Write names of at least two. Two what? Humans? Easy: George and Laura W. Bush.

9- Astronauts wear space suits to save them from the extreme pressure in the space. True or false? No dingus, its from the lack of pressure........ fucking stupid. Also because there is no air

10- Two cars are standing facing opposite directions. The distance between them is 0 meters. They both start and run for 4 km. Then they both turn to their right, run for another 3 km and stop there. What is the distance between the cars when they stop? The same. If they're "standing", their wheels aren't touching the ground and they're not moving. You're not as clever as you think you are.

I GIVE THIS PIECE OF CRAP A 0/10

See, this is the trap I'm thinking it is. Post easy questions with your perceived intelligence at stake, and make people over think and stumble.

Amirite? One professor made every answer "b". So many people psyched themselves out and ended up marking other choice for no reason but "there can't be 5 b's in a row!"

Haha. Its amusing to see none of the good old martial arts fans know which style makes the most powerful strikes :D

Other than that, almost all of the questions have been answered correctly by someone or the other :)

However those writing the REASON or the explanation for their answers will get their marks deducted because the next posting members may look at the reason posted and copy out the answer or start their thought train based on the reasoning of the previous member

Also, this quiz [and hopefully others will follow] is intended to improve your little brains and smack some worthy knowledge in them. So quit complaining pansies, stop wanking for an hour or two, and give your minds [YeaH, they're also a part of you although now abandoned] some work to do.

I'd think so too, other than for the fact we get research requests like this all the time and someone does mean something non-obvious. I think it's included as a trick question, do one thing they say the other.

Re: IQ And General Knowledge Quiz 1

1- Sting of which insect is the most painful?

The bee that fucking stung my foot two summers ago. What a prick. Or Muhammad Ali. Also a prick.

2- A chronometer is/was used to measure _______.

Chronos.

3- Which runs faster: the fastest airplane or the fastest car?

Neither. PEOPLE run. Are you paying attention?

4- An electric train is travelling north-east with a speed of 240 mph. In which direction will its smoke travel? Up - South - Northwest - Southeast - none of these.

Trains don't smoke. They have no lungs.

5- Chess was invented by ______.

Some historical bastard who wanted to annoy me and make me feel stupid.

6- Which type of [human] fighter delivers the most powerful/forceful strike? Write the name of fighting style.

Viking berserker with a big fuck-off battleaxe. And they're naked to add insult to injury.

7- Does an infant human have more bones, less bones or equal bones than an adult?

Less than a palaeontologist. More than an adult ant.

8- In myths of different cultures, which animals can take a human shape? Write names of at least two.

Homosapiens sapiens and homosapiens neanderthalensis.

9- Astronauts wear space suits to save them from the extreme pressure in the space. True or false?

False. It's a nerdy fashion statement. Hasn't caught on yet.

10- Two cars are standing facing opposite directions. The distance between them is 0 meters. They both start and run for 4 km. Then they both turn to their right, run for another 3 km and stop there. What is the distance between the cars when they stop?

Fucking miles.

Re: IQ And General Knowledge Quiz 1

Excellent tries for a bunch of halfwit drunks. Anyway here are the answers:

1 Bullet ant. Naming the tarantula hawk wasp would also be marked right.

2 Time

3 Car. An airplane might FLY faster than any car but when it comes to running, racing cars are a LOT faster!

4 none of these

5 indians. exact person[s] not known

6 a heavyweight boxer's punch is considered to be the most powerful hit. however some consider a kickboxer's knee strike to be the most powerful. specifying either would have been correct

7 more

8 wolf [europe and america myths] and 100 years old snake [india pakistan and bangladesh myths]

9 false

10 ten km

Adrian Tepes: 3

Toph: 3.75

Nemmerle: 4

Athuran: 3

Mr Matt: 1

Asheekay you tit, cars don't run either!

Also, the Indian version of chess is not the same as modern chess, which originated as a modified version of a similar Indian game (called shatranj ) in Europe relatively recently.

-2 points for you.

Right! Cars float. They fly. They swim. They glide. They jump. They crawl. They waggle. The only thing they don't do is running. :p

Yes, indian chess differs slightly from the modern chess. Modern chess is a derivative of the indian chess. So if I had asked who invented the light bulb, you won't name edison because today's bulbs are so different than his.

Last thing: I'm a reptile. Reptiles don't have tits. ;)

Toph January 10th, 2013 10:26 PM

They...they do none of those. They roll.

Differs greatly. Wiki it! Lights today are more similar to Edison's than shatranj is to chess.

*checks*

My god you are a reptile!!! :O

Damn! I lose.

I had forgotten to mention rolling. I hate you most sincerely now!

Please jump off a cliff.

Or try the new quiz if you want a harder and more painful death than that!
