You could look job postings. Look for jobs that sound interesting, then look what is required. It helps to talk to people with some experience in a field (although they may be biased). Sometimes it is also helpful to look at companies rather than job descriptions.

In general the more difficult your subject is the better, assuming that you manage to get a degree with decent grades from a good institution. HR looks at education as an indicator of how likely it is that you are intelligent and disciplined, difficult subjects are better in that respect.

In any case, learn to program, chances are that you'll need it at some point.

She happened to stumble upon the NASA website. It turned out that the NASA mission specialists and astronauts incorporate all of her interests. And whilst she didn't like Mathematics as much, she learnt to respect it more and more as she saw the correlation between Chemistry and Mathematics.

That would probably be the ideal career for me.

I'm currently getting help through my local Good Will chain. My current program has some classes in programming, but once I transfer I can also get certification in computers through the school.

But I don't think I'd go for a computer science major at this point =p

Don't be afraid to change majors if it doesn't suit what you are doing- I went in undeclared, went to Chemistry than Biology, then focused into Pharmacy after getting an opportunity to check out a pharmaceutical lab. There are financial concerns always, but it's better to try and get out early if you're not too crazy about the field, that way it's easy to transition to other majors as a lot of them share the same core requirements. Otherwise if you decide late it's likely you'll have to do a lot of things over and end up paying more.

It's good to do what you are interested in- don't force yourself into a degree you have no care for, but be mindful at the same time that not everything's going to be pleasing to an employer once you graduate. Some degrees don't have much traction, unfortunately.

Most universities also have a career center like aldaja said. They're helpful people, and they can give you an idea of what you can do with your particular degrees and when to expect to get opportunities for internships and research opportunities, as well as how it is applicable to a professional field.
