tire gauge and inflator

hey guys,

I'm trying to find a tire gauge and inflation for my friend who uses a wheelchair, we have one but it for the car only, which as you can image is pain to go plug it into your car. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one (in Ottawa, on) that plugs into a wall. Not like 200 dollar one but more like 40 and under.

I have tried wal-mart, Canadian tire, Sears, Home hardware, Home depo. all of them have them but all are meant for a car plug in! Yes we have tried the Dc/Ac adapter but they didn't work at all.

For a wheelchair? How about a bicycle shop? The wheels on a bike seem like they would be more comparable to a wheelchair.

yeah, all the bike shops in Ottawa carry the manual ones, CO2 Tire Inflator or ones that plug into a car, unfortunately her Wheelchair needs to be inflated to 100psi and hand pump well just isn't going to cut it.

How do the car plug-in ones work, by the cigarette lighter?

Good point, I'd imagine that would be the case. If so, they make cigarette lighter to wall outlet adapters.

CO2 cartridges that are designed to inflate bike tires come in 100-20 PSI, which are meant for 3-4 uses can be used, of course it will only work once if you need 100psi but is likely your best bet.

I've gotten three of them none of them worked properly

Try reading through here, most of their suggestions seemed ~$40.

It may require some tinkering by an electronics expert to get an adapter that works correctly, I'm not an expert in such matters but I imagine the voltage, amps, and other technical things like that wibbly-wobbly symbol on the plug might make a difference.

But I bet it's achievable.
