Where in the world would you like to visit

So, where would you like to go and why?

America, like Alabama, to see small town life there.

Armenia, oldest Chrisitan Nation.

Israel, to see the Holy Land.

Russia, To see the Old Orthodox buildings there.

Germany, to see a pristine, Manland European Nation.

So literally anywhere in the world? I'd then say, the molten core of the planet. I want to see it for myself, upclose, before I would hurl myself into it.

Pristine in what way? If you mean the religious aspects you'd have to limit yourself to the southern region which is our Bible Belt.

We do have lots of nice cathedrals all over the country though.

I'd love to go to Romagna, see the countryside and visit places like Venice and Tuscany. I've also wanted to visit Paris for a very long time, I'd love to take my girlfriend and just get away from everything for a month or two. London is on my list, as well...

Really the only place that I've been dying to go to is Japan. In the past few years I've gotten over the whole my country sucks phase. There's enough to see around the corner.

Well hopefully they will have a nationwide party and run out of vodka. Like they did at the end of WW2.

Re: Where in the world would you like to visit

Well, I live in England, and within the United Kingdom, I have been to both Wales and the Isle of White. Neither of which seemed extremely special. I've never been to Scotland though; one of the places I'd love nothing more than to visit one day, preferably in the warmer months.

Britain excluded; France is the next closest place. You'd think having lived so close, I'd have been there already, though I haven't. I hope to make good on this at some point in the future. In addition to France, Australia and New Zealand I'd also like to travel too, though I feel I should have done that tour already. It isn't something I want to leave until too late.

Then there are other places, specifically New York and Las Vegas in America, various parts of Canada, Russia, Hong Kong, Italy and a few other locations too.

I've already been to Space (and Ibiza, though this was before it became party central), and have visited Turkey on many occasions. I think I'm done with Turkey, though wouldn't mind going to Spain again.

That's all the places I've been to (could add belgium and the netherlands to the list, but i was sleeping on a bus through belgium and stopped in a service station in the netherlands, so not really), so I consider myself moderately well-travelled (despite not have been to some pretty ordinary places, e.g. Spain and Scotland)

If i was to list countries/areas I want to go to, I'd say I want to see more of:
-Australia- Had a great time last year, have relatives over there, there's a staggering amount I haven't seen, great social atmosphere.
-New Zealand- Same reasons as Australia, but also the amazing scenery- If you've watched the Lord Of The Rings films (which you almost certainly have on this forum), you'll know what i mean, and no, I'm not talking about Mordor.
-Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos (south east asia basically)- Great weather, social, beautiful beaches and islands
-South America- Bit more of a cultural experience here. While there's obviously the social aspect (I have a grade-A travel bug), there's also just the amazing sights, going to the rainforests, seeing ancient ruins (bit of a history buff)
Canada- Got family there, wouldn't mind going there for skiing and seeing family.
-More of Europe (only really properly seen france. Went to greece on a "lad holiday", so I haven't really seen Greece, and been to sicily in Italy, which is nice, but I haven't really seen proper Italy yet.)

Re: Where in the world would you like to visit

I don't get why so many people would want to go to New York City? I've been there a few times and honestly i hated it.

Crazy Wolf February 11th, 2011 07:58 PM

Re: Where in the world would you like to visit

Well, you won't know you hate it until you've been there, and there are cool things to see.

I've traveled over most of the USA, and I live there. I've lived in Russia, and spent about a month each in Germany and Spain.

I've also spent time in Ukraine, Moldova, Mexico, Costa Rica, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, England, and Belgium.

Hopefully I'll be going to China this summer (woo, school!)

Ideally I'll fit in some travel to places south of the Equator, specifically Argentina and Chile, although Ozzyland and Kiwiville might be nice too.

Re: Where in the world would you like to visit

I don't really like to travel, but in the future I would like to go Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C, and St. Louis. Why? Well mainly for baseball, I'd like to go to any of these towns to catch a game at some of MLB's nicer, and in the case of Chicago and Wrigley Field, classic stadiums. One would think I would mention Fenway in Boston or Yankee Stadium in New York, but I hate the Red Sox and Yankees, and while I have nothing against the Mets, their new stadium Citi Field isn't all that appealing to me at the moment.

Outside of North America, I've always thought about visiting Chile and some of its South American neighbours and also traveling through Europe, mainly France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Where in the world would you like to visit

I would love to return to Maine in the autumn season.
Spoiler:

The hills are vibrant with reds, oranges, and yellows. To gain a more surrealistic view, stand in the middle of a stream, and witness the leaves envelouping you, and everything around you. In addition, the sparse population adds to the scenic beauty of it all, and makes the environment much more peaceful, pastoral, and serene.

I would also love to visit Siberia again, especially during another comet pass-by.
Spoiler:

In the deep coldness of Siberia, the nights were even more desolate than the day. All around me, everywhere I looked; there was only various shades of gray, white, and black to be seen. Even my camouflage suit shared in this monochromatic scheme. This toneless world seemed like something which could only have existed in black and while television, but it was indeed very true, and it was everywhere. It was all so very surreal.

The only indication of this genuinely being authentic lay within the frozen sky overhead. As I looked up, the hazy tail of
Hale-Bopp graced the heavens. Its shimmering tail glowed blue, piercing the colourless environment which surrounded me. This single bit of colour brought with it, the admiration and adoration of all who were within its range of sight. Its splendor drew me to staring into its magnificence, until all I knew was this moment, and this comet.

With the coming of the morning, the majesty of the night’s encounter disappeared, only to reside within the deepest reaches of my memory.

I would love to go to Japan sometime. This is mainly due to the fact that I would really like to see that life sized Gundam Statue. That is assuming it's still up.

I would also like to visit Rome at some point. I've been taking a Roman Civilization class recently and it's piqued my interest in Rome.

Haven't been to alot of palces but I'm somebody who wants to experience completely new cultures. SO mainly away from Europe, probably Asia. I would LOVE to go to Western China as it's so cut off from the world(tibet etc) and such a different way of life.

Just Holland (Provinces of South and North Holland, out of the 12 we have, although it is the most dominant region of the country due to being the most urbanized and basically everything of importance being located in this area) or also other parts of NL? ;)

Erm, disregarding the OP, all the places I've been too I've collected here:

Panoramio - Photos by nzibari

There are others but I have pictures of it-

-Iraqi Kurdistan
-Vienna, Austria
-San Francisco
-New York City
-Washington DC
-San Antonio and Austin

I went to Turkey when I was younger, before the days of a digital camera. Couldn't appreciate it back then as a child though.

I would like to go to France and Italy one day. Maybe the Low Countries, UK, and Ireland too. Check out Germany and Russia for historical structures, go to China as well. I think those are doable in my lifetime. Here in the states I would like to see more of the Pacific Northwest.

Good idea Red Menace. He should definitely see more of California if he's interested in the Pacific Northwest. California would be a great choice for him.
