Airsoft Sport So, I know some of you maggots play airsoft. Surprising we haven't had a discussion about this yet. Who here plays it? What kind of guns do you have, where do you get them from, etc. Give advice and all that business. My first one was the UTG M87LA Spring Airsoft Shotgun Full Stock from shorty. What a shitty gun. I hit an empty 2 litre bottle of soda and the stock split in half. Afterwards, I got the UTG M324 from shorty (shortyusa and airsoft gi = best sites) and it's the perfect $100 spring sniper, hasn't failed me ever and leaves a badass welt on random strangers. I'm also looking to get the UTG M87 tactical, it's $40 but it looks a lot better than my first, for being a spring shotgun. |
Re: Airsoft Sport AIRSOFT IS FOR GAYS GET REAL GUNS Anyway, I had a CA M15A4 but I ended it up selling it for money toward the real thing. Around here there's just no one to play with, although I love the concept and think it would be fun to try. The only thing that would piss me off is cheaters. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Cheat at airsoft? Maybe during real matches and stuff (some people take it very seriously) when they dont call out hits but around my town we just play for fun, pain games are the best. |
Re: Airsoft Sport I have not gotten a gun yet, but i'm looking at the Airsoft GI G4-A3 and a TM P226 sig sauer. |
Re: Airsoft Sport I managed to snatch up a TM AK74MN while it was on sale, what can I say - excellent gun. I have a slightly upgraded UTG Type 96 for amateur sniping and plinking that I'm trying to sell, and a TM Desert Eagle that I'm buying a full metal body kit for. Next up on my to-buy list is an A&K Mk43 for suppressive firepower :tommygun::daddy: I honestly don't get to play much, which is too bad since I really enjoyed it when I did get the chance. There just aren't many fields or interested folks round here...:( |
Re: Airsoft Sport You mean something like this: Spoiler: If that is what you meant, then yeah, I've got that and a couple Barettas that broke on me. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
I own a ECHO1 G36C, and love it. I actually ordered it from a website called ShortyUSA but nowadays I would recomend buying Airsoft gear and guns from AirsoftGI.com. I also do some mil-sim so I have a vest, full BDU set, etc. Quote:

Re: Airsoft Sport That's why pain games will always be the best. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
Get the right gun, and people are really going to know when they are hit, my G36C does around 380 stock (unlubed or anything like that), with that kind of FPS, most people can feel it. |

Re: Airsoft Sport I live on an island with a very small population. I'm not going to buy any expensive guns because of my location. If it shoots straight, I'll use it. Watching pros is fun, especially the ones who take it seriously. |

Re: Airsoft Sport Heh... My G22 only fires at 260, but it makes up for it with it's accuracy and firing speed. My Berettas were far more powerful, but had relatively slow firing speed. Great accuracy though. Wish I could find some info on the Berettas I had, but unfortunately, I don't have either of them with me at the moment, and they were a discontinued model anyway, so finding info on them is a bit tough. |
Re: Airsoft Sport They were electric, spring or gas? |
Re: Airsoft Sport The G22 is both electric and spring, while the berettas were spring only. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Ah, were the berettas expensive? |
Re: Airsoft Sport No, fairly cheap. I think somewhere around $15-$25. They were awesome, until the springs broke. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Oo wow, pretty good for that price. I got a $12 sig sauer from Wal Mart once. Mm, mm, mm. Shame on WalMart. |
Re: Airsoft Sport This was my first Airsoft gun: Spoiler: It was a good one, solid, straight-shooting, hefty. The next one I got was a springer M-16, nothing fancy, it's quite accurate even though the stock's been broken and is currently held in place with Gorilla tape or black duct tape (I forget which). My current top one is a Tokyo Marui FAMAS, I can't find any photos of the version that it is, it has a very large trigger guard, It's been so long since I've used it that I forget if it's a full handguard... I've had other Airsoft guns, but these have been the most reliable, most fun, and straightest-shooting. |

Re: Airsoft Sport All I have is a pretty cheap spring-powered M1911 with rails and a laser pointer, but one of my friends is really into Airsoft. His prize gun is a full-size replica M249 fully automatic (electric powered). He's also got all sorts of assault rifles and SMG's. Off the top of my head, I know he's got a G36C, an MP5, a G3, and an AK-47. All of them are electric-powered full automatic. |

Re: Airsoft Sport AK47s... make me rage. It's a good collection though, and it is amazing how some people get so much into this 'sport' (if it is one). You see guys that fly around the world, blow big money on tactical gear, set up militias, etc. to shoot plastic bbs at other people. It's fun though. All worth it. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Hell yeah, if I had the money and time to invest in it, I would definitely get into it. |
Re: Airsoft Sport $100 bucks for an airsoft gun? Shit, I have rifles that I bought cheaper than that. However, I do posses an electric full-auto Uzi that I have almost never used and should probably sell to reach my long term goal of buying a real Browning (semi)Automatic Rifle, a goal I made up yesterday. |

Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
.30-06 Springfield is a pretty attainable ammunition type and fairly cheap off military surplus. I mean, the US military has been using it to one degree or another since 1906. Plus, the place I found that manufacturers California legal replica BARs chambers .30-06. As for home-made machined rifles, I don't know, but I've always thought it would make a fun hobby. I do know a lot of people skirt around gun laws by buying gun kits and building them themselves. |

Re: Airsoft Sport That's why you carry a large M1911. It's slim, hefty, and stylish. You could probably get a good tomahawk-toss out of it. |
Re: Airsoft Sport They're great guns. I'm getting one when I turn 21...10 more months, dammit! This would be option number 2. Complete with detachable stick. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Do you also have a katana that can cut through a tank? I'm pretty sure that most M1911s are legal in California, I should probably look closely at that. In the USA, it's also about as far away as you can get from "evil pistol" while still being a (semi-)automatic pistol. Used by brave American soldiers from World War I up to the modern era? Yeah, that's a bit harder to cast as a criminal's gun, especially if you give it wood grips or something relatively non-threatening. That is sorta a funny thing about guns, isn't it? A Tommy gun with a drum magazine and forward pistol grip? Gangster's gun, those damn criminals! A Tommy gun with a straight magazine and no forward pistol grip? Tool of Marines and Rangers, fighting Nazzies and them durn Japanese. |

AB 1934 Assembly Bill - AMENDED But, we are going astray so I shall cease. |
Re: Airsoft Sport In my spare time (Which is almost all the time now) I think I might hunt down some huge pieces of scrap wood and metal, and build a sort of course in my back yard. There's plenty of space (It's freakin' huge!) for such a thing, and it wouldn't be all that expensive for me... Just gotta do the work, and invite some people over so I can shoot them! Of course, I'm prolly gonna have a tough time finding anyone in this area (Everyone around here seems to be unable to take a plastic bb without whining about it) but I always have my brother to count on. He just needs to get a gun first... ...or not... |

Anyways, I have a heavily upgraded Echo1 SCAR, did the paintjob myself. Here's some pics of me before the paintjob, and also the paintjob itself. Spoiler: Spoiler: |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
I play with no mask, glasses only. Some of my friends play with mask's and I find it puts them at a big disadvantage becuase they can't hear worth crap and they have virtually no periphal vision. Fun for me, painfull for them. Nice loadout though, the bullets give it a nice touch.;) |
Re: Airsoft Sport Getting shot in the teeth doesn't sound particularly appealing. A lot of money was spent getting my teeth straight, I'm not going to let some 1-cent ball mess that up. |

Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
I used to play with a mask, but it just took away from the experience so much that I hated it. Airsoft with other people is roughly good training for me for the Army which I plan to go into and I know they're not going to let you wear masks over in the warzone, so I only got goggles. They do a good job, and you have such a low chance of getting hit face because people generally aim for the chest and the bbs without hop up go down, so.. Or, if you want, a neoprene mask is fine too. By the way, this is my M324: http://www.airsoftmart.net/catalog/images/utgsniper.JPG best spring sniper you can get, except the bipod sucks and will break but eh. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
Also, all people in the military make fun of airsofters, sorry. Especially the ones who get all decked out in the military gear. Just thought I'd let you guys know. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
And yes, 30-06 is pretty damn expensive. All ammo is expensive anymore, it's crazy. |
Re: Airsoft Sport I just don't like when people play airsoft and say it's like the military or good training for it or whatever, because airsofting is absolutely nothing like the real military, and I'm not talking about the fact that airsofting doesn't involve real bullets. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
Also enjoyable/funny in Airsoft: gangsta-shooting. An electric "Glock" pistol with 33 pellets, capable of firing automatically? How can you *not* turn that gun sideways? Walking pellets onto the target, seeing your pellets move through the air as they keep your opponent's head down, that's some fun. |
Re: Airsoft Sport Quote:
I like it because it's good for training reflexes, also how well you act in a battle (if you are really getting into it) and sharpshooting. |
