Re: Airsoft Sport

I have 3 guns. A Mossberg 500 in 12 guage, which was my first gun. I bought it used and it looks used, but it works great.

I inherited my grandfathers Marlin 336 lever action deer rifle. It's chambered in .35 Remington and was manufactured in 1950! I can shoot 1-2" groups with it at 100 yards with factory sights after all these years. :)

My first gun I bought new I got just this past Christmas. It's a DPMS AR-15 AP4 Carbine in 5.56. I've already put about 1200 rounds through it, and it has yet to jam or malfunction yet, but I baby it and spend at least 1-2 hours cleaning it after shooting. It's a fun gun but it's a toy. My favorite gun is my Marlin by far, it's a real man's gun. :P

(It's not my fault I went off topic, he asked me!)

Time to try and contribute somewhat to the thread. :)

I think airsoft does a great job at simulating some parts of soldier training. With that said, it won't teach you about real firearms, it won't teach you how to be a soldier. It will teach you how to move more efficiently, and if played with people with a serious mindset, it will teach you communication and some tactics too. What you take from airsoft is going to depend almost 100% with the type of people you play with.

The fact is, whether you're in the military and see airsoft as lame or not, you can't deny it being a damn good idea and pretty fun too.

Decided to take out my M324 tonight, holy CRAP did I shoot the hell out of this one Rockstar can 0.0 also I filled it with fake blood, making it funnier. No, but seriously, the aluminums all bent up and everything.

My G22 wouldn't put much of a dent into a filled can, unless at close ranges, but those berettas that I used to have would destroy them... :/

I remember when there were some expired cans of soda in my house, and trying to take them out with my Airsoft guns. It took a while to open it up(the cans were sealed, but we probably weren't going to be drinking them), but it was cool to see the reaction.

You should shake them up as hard as you can first. I had a can of tomato V8 that was really nasty so I took it back up, shook it up, lined it up on the swing, shot it, BAM, V8 explodes everywhere.

Ooh, sounds fun... Next time I get a can of soda, I think I'll not drink it, but shoot it instead! Might take a few shots, but I'm pretty sure I can pierce it with my G22 eventually.

It does sound fun, I've only shot empty soda cans and water bottles.

Blah, empty things are no fun.

Shoot steel plates at close range with no eye protection. That is fun!
