Anyways, I have a heavily upgraded Echo1 SCAR, did the paintjob myself. Here's some pics of me before the paintjob, and also the paintjob itself.

Dude thats awesome! I painted my M324 (sniper) because I had too, since I lived in a district of town filled with apartments i painted many parts of it orange to distinguish it from a real gun (those dirty people would have loved to call the cops on me). After I moved, I never got off the orange paint but I think I will this weekend.
I used to play with a mask, but it just took away from the experience so much that I hated it. Airsoft with other people is roughly good training for me for the Army which I plan to go into and I know they're not going to let you wear masks over in the warzone, so I only got goggles. They do a good job, and you have such a low chance of getting hit face because people generally aim for the chest and the bbs without hop up go down, so..
.30-06 Springfield is a pretty attainable ammunition type and fairly cheap off military surplus.
THIS IS PATENTLY FALSE! Because srsly the cheapest I've found milsurp 30-06 is .50 cents a round.
Also, all people in the military make fun of airsofters, sorry. Especially the ones who get all decked out in the military gear. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Uh oh. All you airsofters have to stop enjoying your hobby because people you don't know laugh at you for it! What is this grade school? It's certainly not my thing but come on.
And yes, 30-06 is pretty damn expensive. All ammo is expensive anymore, it's crazy.

I just don't like when people play airsoft and say it's like the military or good training for it or whatever, because airsofting is absolutely nothing like the real military, and I'm not talking about the fact that airsofting doesn't involve real bullets.

I understand this. I try to encourage this understanding in the people I play with. MilSim Airsoft, to me, is only truly MilSim when everything but the toy (including the person) is real military, or at the least paramilitary. Otherwise, have fun and play paintball without the mess and with less goofy-looking guns.
Also enjoyable/funny in Airsoft: gangsta-shooting. An electric "Glock" pistol with 33 pellets, capable of firing automatically? How can you *not* turn that gun sideways? Walking pellets onto the target, seeing your pellets move through the air as they keep your opponent's head down, that's some fun.

But I thought in the military people ran around and shot at eachother with plastic bb guns in their backyards!!!!!!!!!
I like it because it's good for training reflexes, also how well you act in a battle (if you are really getting into it) and sharpshooting.
