Reminds me of one I used to have... Except mine was a piece of shit. Weakest and more inaccurate airsoft gun I have ever used... Seriously, I could point that thing in my own face and fire, and it wouldn't so much as sting a little, that's how weak it was. Not that I ever actually fired it into my own face, though...

All I have is a pretty cheap spring-powered M1911 with rails and a laser pointer, but one of my friends is really into Airsoft. His prize gun is a full-size replica M249 fully automatic (electric powered). He's also got all sorts of assault rifles and SMG's. Off the top of my head, I know he's got a G36C, an MP5, a G3, and an AK-47. All of them are electric-powered full automatic.

I only wish I could afford such a collection.

AK47s... make me rage. It's a good collection though, and it is amazing how some people get so much into this 'sport' (if it is one). You see guys that fly around the world, blow big money on tactical gear, set up militias, etc. to shoot plastic bbs at other people. It's fun though. All worth it.

Hell yeah, if I had the money and time to invest in it, I would definitely get into it.

$100 bucks for an airsoft gun? Shit, I have rifles that I bought cheaper than that. However, I do posses an electric full-auto Uzi that I have almost never used and should probably sell to reach my long term goal of buying a real Browning (semi)Automatic Rifle, a goal I made up yesterday.

Commie rifles, you mean? I've always wanted to see what restrictions there are on home-machined rifles, I'd love to have something BAR-flavored, but probably chambered in 7.62 NATO for ease of ammo-locating.

Hey, I'd put my $70 Mosin-Nagant up against an airsoft gun any day.

.30-06 Springfield is a pretty attainable ammunition type and fairly cheap off military surplus. I mean, the US military has been using it to one degree or another since 1906. Plus, the place I found that manufacturers California legal replica BARs chambers .30-06.

As for home-made machined rifles, I don't know, but I've always thought it would make a fun hobby. I do know a lot of people skirt around gun laws by buying gun kits and building them themselves.

There is no federal law prohibiting a regular guy from machining and assembling a gun. However, you live in California, so among other things, you're not allowed.

Yes, I know. California's weapons laws really annoy me. You know you can't have nun-chucks? Having something as shitty a weapon as nun-chucks being banned makes me seriously doubt the amount or quality of thought that is put into the rest of our weapons laws.
