Spam. First, a company would never immediatly ask were to put money, and second, they would definitely sign with their full name and function in the company.
Delete it, it's crap.
A-well-a everybody's heard about the bird

Keep all contact over the telephone - dont email any and I mean ANY personal info to these people...
If this is MTV, then its really badly co ordinated. Hows about just coming out and saying "I think this is a scam" the reaction you get could be the deal breaker...
Dear science, please start solving problems and curing diseases or shut the fuck up.

Oh, of course not.
But I thought it would be a bad idea to even call them.
I mean, could they trace you or something? Of course, what would they do, they probably aren't that desperate for his identity, they'd probably just move on to an easier target.

Dont' know if I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but the person contacting my friend is called "Ashley Benedict," and she is a real person, but I don't know if someone could just be impersonating her.
Most likely yes, a dedicated scammer would do this exactly because these doubts would arise in your head. Look at it this way, if she wanted to do business with you, she would make it her business to dispel any uncertainties

That's what I figured.
See, the question my friend still has though is how is this stuff really done?
I mean would MTV ever contact anyone for "footage release" like this?
I don't think so, but I don't know what the real process would be, if there is one.
Do you think that Ashley Benedict at IMDB is real or a scammer profile? I think she is just being impersonated by the scammer probably.
I think it's very possible they get material that way, but unless your stuff is crazy good, be suspicious. As for the contact info, I actually went about it a circular way by finding out who the CEO is, and then looking up her information. I somehow missed the "MTV Contact Information" google result as well. >_>
