Pop-ups, by far. Especially the ones that pop-up at the bottom of the screen and the ones that appear when your cursor hovers over certain text. I don't know what the latter actually is, I've read of the term "Hover-over pop-ups" used. I also don't know if they're part of Java, browser features, or the forum software, but I wish there was a way to turn it off.

Since the hack attack rendering Filefront Forums as an attack sight on Firefox has been resolved I've not seen any pop-up ads at the bottom of the screen though. If it stays that way it would certainly be more comfortable participating here. I know Filefront like any other forum needs ad funding, but there's less intrusive ways to get it. I'd much rather see the static ads in between posts than that, and they're just as visible.

Less of a peeve, but I also don't like certain text being link highlighted automatically, as has been the case for some time now on many a forum and websites. Seems to me this and the hover over pop-ups are related to the software and/or script the forums and websites use, but I'd definitely turn off both if I could.

Some have mentioned behavior related peeves, but that fluctuates a lot and for the most part is only a problem on forums that aren't moderated well. Besides, Filefront forums have an ignore list feature, which many don't, so you really only get caught up in that if you choose not to ignore it.

At times I'm sure many here, including myself, have felt like tearing their our hair out over silly arguments, but there's a certain level of respect that rubs off from the good moderating we have here whereby people usually either get over their animosities or just avoid further conflict. It speaks well for the staff and sometimes I honestly feel more at home here than on other forums because of it.

Not really...Obviously there are very stupid, fat and close minded and there are Canadians that live in Igloos...But that number is next to nothing and if I saw my friend living in a Igloo I'd say 'Wtfbbq are you doing?".

Advertisements. I know they pay the bills, but they are reaching new levels of annoyance.

Roll-over ads are some of the worst. "Well, since they won't click, have it do something when the mouse passes over it." >.>

The ones of the forums that come from the bottom are awful and I'm glad I don't see them.

I think Hulu actually interrupts videos with adverts (they mentioned that a video I was going to watch was presented with "limited commercial interruption"). Never watch the vid, never went to the site before, and never will since.

Addicting Games is being destroyed by ads. Some play before you play games and they tend towards women-oriented stuff (not surprised) or kids stuff. I don't give a damn about makeup and dress-up games. I want to play a game. It's made worse when the game won't work and I have to reload it and watch the damn commercial again. And they also use an old favorite: pop-unders! So long school distractions.

Most internet adverts are tolerable, though. You-tube now deploys some, but they don't get in the way enough to piss me off. As long as they're out of the way, I'm fine.

For everything else and more, there's ad-block plus.

Honestly, though, you would think that these people would figure out that getting in the way of people actually annoys them. I wonder if they are annoyed by other people's annoying ads?
