| So basically you have something against Mexicans? Because I don't see any other signs of him being a gang member. No tattoos, no piercings, no sideways hat, etc. |

| Can't speak for Nite, but parental instinct would have to play in at some point, not just appearance. I can't really explain it, but you just "know" when something ain't right. However, I don't know what kind of people these parents were or what they were into. I used to work with a guy who had left their toddler with a known drunk (this guy I worked with and his wife, were serious pot heads back in the day) and they payed the ultimate price. The sitter had passed out on the couch and the toddler got out near the street and was struck and killed. Sad story. Sad for this little one in the story too. | Mugshots are not something I'd just a person's every-day look by. And as far as potential gang-bangers go, no, he doesn't look all that creepy. I live in Chicago. |

| K...but seriously, would you leave your kid with this dude? Not saying the miss cute and fluffy babysitter can't be a freak. But, like I said. I'm guessing the parents didn't put much stock in who was looking after their kid. My guess "lowest bidder" was the deciding factor to save a buck or two. I bet if they'd done a background check and used basic common sense this guy wouldn't have had a chance to put their kid in danger. Obviously, judging someone by how they look can be difficult, however; perception is often reality and if this is how this dude normally looks - no f'cking way, regardless of any redeeming merits he supposedly had with children. | I wouldn't make that decision from a picture. I don't make decisions based on whatever prejudices I may have. |

| The thing is... There is nothing odd about the way he looks. He's a rugged looking hispanic man, that's about it. |

| That's a logical fallacy if I ever saw one. You're assuming they have intuition. Not all parents have some sort of sixth sense to know who's a criminal and who's not. There are wacked out people that otherwise look, sound, and act completely normal. The fact that they failed to magically know this otherwise completely normal looking hispanic man was a creep doesn't mean they were bad parents. |

Also, you can't assume they were good or bad parents. The article doesn't state that. So that can't even really be an issue, other than an assumption. Last edited by AlDaja; 3 Weeks Ago at 09:43 PM.. |
