That kind of thing could happen to any of you people and I'm sure you'd love being labeled as the worst parent ever for an easily-made mistake. As BadHairDay said, things don't roll away for no reason. The mother had no reason to expect the pram would randomly roll onto the tracks.
I could have made the mistake but I'd have caught the thing, my reaction times aren't that bad.

I wouldn't have made the mistake only because I already have an irrational fear of falling off to pretty much anything where I could possibly die. And I'm sure there is a little hindsight bias here, but I wouldn't have let go of the stroller because I'm afraid of falling into train shafts myself.

I wouldnt have made the mistake because I dont have kids.

But you figure all the times for that to happen, and it happens right when a train is coming?
Thats bad timing.

Me and my wife were walking around one night and we went down to the train station, and a cargo train was about to pass. One of those trains that the "High Speed trains pass without stopping...use caution" signs are for. We both wanted to see just how fast they came thru. We stood about 3 feet away from the yellow line, and the damn thing blew past us so fast the wind knocked us down.

Maybe the mom hated the kid and nudged the stroller just enough....

Ah please, the kid now has a story to tell when he's older when kids ask him "Did your parents drop you?"

"No, I got run over by a train"

I personally love being able to say

"No, my dad threw me into the ceiling fan as a baby"

The ensuing jaw drop is epic

You go flying across the room into a wall? Pencils and paper clips usually do that, I don't see why a baby wouldn't.

Ok, really, some idiot has to ask that everytime I tell the story, I kid you not, I told it in PE, and the TEACHER asked that.
