He's a political pundit. They're all like this, regardless of which political platform they support. Their purpose is to guide mass opinion, and they resort to anything to do so.

Yea, but this thread is about Glenn Beck- just because Democrats are "no better" does not excuse him or any one else from participating in the actions he does. Glenn Beck's actions are going to catch up to him, and these hypocritical things he's laid out is simply going to have him wind himself up in a web of his own deceit. Seriously, he goes from mourning 9/11 victims to push his own views, but then blasts them for "complaining" too much the next.

Now of course he's doing the same things that he has said elitists and politicians only do, that is overreacting to things that commentators and bloggers say.

I barely know the guy (saw a few scenes on the Daily Show, that's it) and it can be quite understandable that any person doesn't like nasty rumours being spread about them. Whether those rumours are 100% nonsense, based on some sort of history and gone wild or actual fact. On the other hand spreading a rumour can hardly be made illegal, so stopping a rumour from spreading is going to be tricky. The ebst you can do is probably try and stop any known sources from spreading the rumour due to slander.

Regarding this particular case, as I said I barely know the guy, if it's a method he himself has used or a fact to getting something going it would only be a matter of time before people get pissed off and annoyed at the guy and decide to use his own tatics against him (or make fun of him).

Though as others said, I never heard of this rumour untill I saw this thread, which means this whole thing could do him more "damage" then good as more people hear about the rumour. THe thing he wanted to prevent in the first place. I'd doubt (m)any people would for second believe such runours though. SUch tactics are pretty much under-the-belt tactics and hardly honourable...

One way that's really easy to tell that the crying's fake is that it's all in the eyes, you don't really see any unintentional jaw or lip movement. Also, y'know, he's a shitty attempt at a comedian who has a shitty attempt at news combined with a mediocre attempt at entertainment. Also, did you hear the rumor going around about him? I'm not saying that he did rape and kill a girl in 1990, but he sure isn't denying it.
