Oh, I thought this was going to be one of those "all cops should die and they are always wrong!!!!!!" kind of posts.

I've been to North Carolina before... all I can really say is, you must be deaf at this point if a cop had to pull you over for putting your music too loud.

Actually it's in the drivers manual: It is against the law to drive with objects in the car that impair your vision or hearing.

It can't be worse than heavy blackened goth-doom metal, at 100 percent volume, can it? On a serious note though, it would be wise not to listen to music at high volume, unless you want this to happen.

I build competition systems, so I'm used to loud music. And no, I'm not deaf, I can still hear quite well considering I've been listening to loud music for over a year.

^what he said. And I can see fine. It doesn't impair my vision at all. The only time it does, is when I'm doing a demo or actually "racing" it (system vs. system in a db contest...look it up for yourself).

You don't have to rip your audio out. Just don't put it to a level that impairs hearing other sounds, like horns and sirens.
