Well Europe had been making chips for a long time, Americans found out about them during the war in Belgium I believe (mainly anyway) and you guys named them french fries for some reason.

British chips are different, they are a lot thicker with more potatoe.

By the way: The Big Bacon Classic (along with double/triple varieties) have returned to the Wendy's menu board! (Under the name Bacon Deluxe). But now, we have apple-smoked bacon that is cooked for the first time in the restaurant. (aka we don't get it precooked) This applies only to the premium bacon deluxe (and baconator) sandwiches.
