Yeah, the guy was a bit crazy the last decade or so. I'll admit it. It happens. And you know what... being probably the most recognizable name in entertainment, in history, worldwide... yeah, the stress probably would've gotten to you, too. No, I'm not saying any of his antics were justified, but I DARE anyone to walk in his shoes.

He was working on a 50-show tour. All shows sold out in FIVE HOURS. Over $89m in sales. Yeah, he wasn't doing anything productive at all these days.

The man supported 39 charities, mostly for organizations raising money to combat terminal illnesses. Yeah, he was a total monster.

On a positive note... Thriller 2 is going to be the freakin' shizznit, when Michael Jackson shows up as a real zombie.
Best post of this thread so far.

I'm very sad to see Michael Jackson go. I never believed the allegations of child molestation (which, mind you, were never proven true). He was easily the biggest single influence on popular music in this century, and he will be missed, by me at the very least.

Godspeed, Mr. Jackson.

Heard about this at work today, read that he had been taken to hospital after a heart attack yesterday, but typically thought he'd pull through. Heard otherwise when at work, both by word of mouth, and via the radio.

Regardless of what he may or may not have done, and the situations that he got himself into, there is no doubt that he was a talented artist. I don't care what people say about what happened with any children, that is a matter to be discussed elsewhere. The fact of the matter is, that who he was, and what he done (for the music industry) was something that we may not see again in our lifetime.

He was a talented artist, and one that I'm sure will be remembered for years to come.

I disagree. He was well famous before the cases of child molesting came about. He will no doubt be remembered for both, but moreso for his music. That much I am sure on.

On this, I'll stand by and agree with. Regardless of what he may or may not have done, his music cannot be faulted.

I've regarded him as a creep since his 'turned' white. He never did look normal as a white man, especially in his later days.

And now, for a more direct topic:

Jackson wasn't actually found guilty or innocent if I'm correct.

It is questionnable too, whether he actually molested any children. Sure, it is possible, and if it did happen, it wouldn't suprise me the slightest. The guy wasn't normal (except for when on stage), and I could believe that he has molested youngsters.

However, these many children (however many there actually were) did in fact stay with MJ, it seemed a bit coincidental that they decided to voice the truth at a stage when he was venerable. Could it not be that these parents / children simply saw a way of getting loads of money from a celebrity, by falsely accusing him or such?

On the other side of the fence, what parent in their right mind would allow their child to sleep with a creepy former-black (now turned white) pop star? Regardless of how rich he was, any sane parent wouldn't do it, so I'd blame the parents just as much as anyone can blame Wacko Jacko.

It's a mixture, if he was an average joe, no one would hear about him molesting children, I'll even throw out there that he may have been convicted if he wasn't a huge celebrity. He's known because he was a huge celebrity, he bleached himself, and he was accused of molesting children. If you go around on the street asking about Michael Jackson, that's what everyone will say.

also, what parent in their right mind would put their child through a false trial, lying about a terrible crime that most parent would like to keep from their childrens knowledge until they are older.

The big case in 2005, about the molestation... the parents of the "victim" were also busted for trying to defraud the government.. with their children. I know some people who have children, just to get a paycheck from the government (a flaw inherent in our welfare country).

There is no possible way any human can treat their child as a source of income. Oh, wait....

I was never a big fan of his music but I will gladly admit he was very talented.
But do i consider it a big deal that he died? no. I could care less. The guy has a questionable (keyword) history with children that I, if a parent, would be intelligent enough to know to keep my kids away from. Not all are that intelligent, though.
Guilty or not, the guy was still weird.

Oh, no, I'll admit it. He was weird as hell. But I honestly don't think he was the monster some people tried to paint him to be.

You can only hold true that to which you have perceived; aka who knows what really happened unless you were there to witness it. What I can hold to be true that it is really creepy having little kids, boys nonetheless, sleeping over your personal house. It's one thing to have an amusement park for kids...it's another to invite them inside your home unattended.

Fair enough. I'll concede that point- he should;ve never put himself in that position.

Exactly. If nothing else than because he's a wealthy super celebrity with a lot to lose...and I think he did lose it all. I mean, true or not, that scandal ruined him and I don't think you can do a comeback from that...not even Britney Spears style.
