I disagree, the rep system is already whored to a great extent by both those who only positive and those who negative for no reason. Then you have revenge repping, something I swear is supposed to be frowned upon but never rectified.

Anson, I think RedDevil's idea would encourage positive-repping, because having lots of red bars next to your name (even if it's just showing you gave lots of red rep) is seen as a bad thing. It might basically cause rep-inflation, but I doubt it'd cause much other harm.

I would agree. The quality of a post outweights the quantity of it. I find myself usually skipping the real long posts made by people from time to time, though I usually do read the short paragraph or two-based ones.

Having an opinion on something is all good and that, but so are facts. Some people will have an opinion, but they'll have such opinion simply 'because'. It wouldn't hurt a few people to back up what they say with worthwhile sources.

In order for admins to do anything about those revenge reppers, they must first be told about it.

It wouldn't surprise me if half the members here expect the admins to physically go around checking the rep system for these cases. Revenge reppers can't be caught if they aren't reported.

In addition to that, there are a lot of members on these forums. If say 1/3rd of them revenge repped, the admins would have quite a job on their hands trying to keep up with it all. Hence the reason that few people leave their name when they give out neg rep; they don't want it back.

Page selector thingy () on the top side of the page aswell for social group discussions.
Currently, there's only one at the bottom of the page unlike on the regular Forum boards. So if I'm jumping from page to page in a group discussion, I have to scroll to the bottom of the page each time.
I know it's not a biggie, but this would make things much more comfy

Also for Social Groups, poll creating option.

That's all I can think of now. Oh wait! One more thing. Attachment option for Private Messages.

Yeah, I understand that I guess, I'm just saying that there are enough issues in the blue as it is and I don't think they should change the rep system.

Yeah, and as long as I've been around reporting revenge reppers, I've never seen any action taken behind it, so I just stopped reporting it and start leaving my neg rep anonymous when giving it to famous revenge reppers. I don't give out neg often either, only when something really dumb is done or said.... I mean REALLY dumb. I don't think my rep should be messed up because a guy decided he wanted to say something racist, or biased, and hypocritical in his own nature and I comment on it. Do you?

Yes, I do. Only because it would frustrate you more.

Seriously, that's why I think a second Rep Given bar would be interesting. It's not "changing" the already established rep system at all. It's adding to it. Perhaps it will make a person think twice about revenge neg repping if it's out there for all to see. Changing the system would be removing the ability to hide rep. I think that, too, coupled with a Rep Given bar would be a deterrent, or at least reveal a jerk-off.

Just to get this straight: revenge repping is not against the rules, it is just something we don't encourage. Just as being arrogant or an ass isn't against the rules but discouraged. Exception to this are obviously cases where people overdo it.

Insults are against the rules though, regardless of whether they are posted in a thread or reputation comment. You can always report those to supermods or admins.

Rep limits. Or rather an alteration to them. I might give rep out once or twice every few months, certainly the average number of times I've given out rep can't be very high. While I understand there needs to be some kind of limit to stop a couple of people just jerking each other off I think after a couple of months or so you should be able to rep the same person again, at least as far as pos-rep goes.

Then it's a good thing that reps are not given out without any consideration if your own rep is not affected in any way.
