| The particular bump you reported concerns bumping a thread with the last post before it being made 2 months ago. That post did indeed make quite a bump but and probably would/should have been deleted when it was made, but deleting the post two months after the event would hbe a bit silly. SO I just focussed on the two month bump. The particular forum has very little activity, with posts from weeks and months ago showing on page 1. So a 2 month bump isn't that much (basically it brings a post from halfway down the first page to the top). In a more active forum like the general discussion for example it would almost certainly be more senseable to delete such a "bump". But there isn't really a fixed rule, it comes down to if it seems more sensable to either start a new thread on the same topic or continueing and old topic. Generally it might be better to just start a new thread on the same topic but instances may occure were it would make more sense to revive the old thread instead. But feel free to use the report post button, we'll look at it and decide what is the most sensable solution to a particular situation. |

| Could you wipe the inactive users who haven't logged on for over 5 years from the database? I have a specific reason. I want to be plain old Ionizer on these forums! The guy who took my name posted for about two weeks then was never seen again...

And people have also been known to reappear after years of inactivity or even non activity (zero postcount users oddly enough starting to post after a few years). So unless somebody up the user database by accident you're out of luck. |

| Perhaps a forum where people can sell things? Maybe make it so that you have to have been a member for ~3+ months and have, say, a minimum of 200 posts before being allowed to make a thread in there? Then you could install some sort of mod for vBulletin which allows people to leave seller feedback or something like that. Dunno, maybe it would be used. |
