Dear lord, yes, change the name back to Gaming Forums.
And, no- I don't hold a grudge against Ziffy for shutting down the site- they probably had to. I do, however, think it could've been done a lot smoother, and more professional. Nor do I hold a grudge against the mass of people who came to TRF because they "had" to, and will never come back. In FF's time of need, we did what we could to keep the majority of the community together and informed, and have no regrets about it, even though no one has yet to even thank us. Tis all good.
No grudge against Ziff Davis, but a little advance warning would have been nice. A return to the GamingForums name would be nice, but we would lose the ability to tell newbies "Y'know, back in my day, we were called GamingForums, plain and simple! We had to walk uphill both ways 5 miles over a dirt road to get our bandwidth for the day, and if we spilled any from the bucket, n0e and AzH would cut switches from the yard and beat us in the britches!"

I thought we were dragged into a terrible, horrible, thunderdrome-esque pit called "The Melee".
Finally people are begining to see the difference between FF and ZD. Over the last year or so alot of members have been quick to place the blame of all the 'bad' things that have happened to the forums on FF when, in fact, the decisions have been made above FF.
Perhaps now members will finally see beyond 'corporatisation'.
Happy days indeed!
And grats to the Founders for buying back FileFront and Gaming Forums.
