Need some ideas. As you know, yesturday I launched a new forum. The thing is, how do I make it grow? How did filefront do it? I have got the obvious in place: I have tried to use as little forums as possible/got rid of '0' posts etc, posted on some major forums, have it in my siggys etc- what else can I do? What would persaude you lot to join anyhow if you saw a new forum? |
Re: Need some ideas. Just look at Filefront! The best example I've seen so far. So far that is... |
Re: Need some ideas. There probably are loads of communities that are as large as, or bigger than FileFront. I know of two forum-based-communities that are larger (Gateworld and SCI-Fi). I wouldn't imagine these communities grow very fast, they probably take years. A lot of people, at some point end up creating their own community, though it never kicks off. There are a few people from here, who went off and created their own community. Some were successful, others weren't. |

Re: Need some ideas. I would join, but I don't have DS, so I would be useless there. Also, you need to give people more time to find and join your forum. You launched it only yesterday, so just sit back and be patient. Someone is bound to join sooner or later. Oh, I just checked your forum again. You do have one member except yourself! Congratulations. |

Re: Need some ideas. Pretty much any forum without a site to support it normally fails. If you ran a site dedicated to the DS. Did previews, reviews, ect then it would help build up a user base. Although there are exceptions. |
