Sounds like the dog just wants attention. You should spend at least 30 minutes a day just paying attention to the dog, that includes walking, petting, combing, or just playing games with him.

Sorry but its one of the duties of being a pet owner.

Just what I was thinking. I have 2 dogs, very energetic dogs at that.( german shepard and a collie mix,so there like big too) and If I dont give them at least like an hour of some sort of exercise a day they bug me as long as I'm there and some times they frigging maul me if I dont. SO try talking it on a long walk or throwing a ball for it until it gets tired.

Animals need care, even a goldfish needs care as you need to refresh the water, feed them etc. And certain animals such as dogs need a whole lot of social attention.

This is also why some animals make bad or difficult pets (they go insane with not enough social contact or fellow species to interact with, just look at parrots who rip their own feathers out).

You need to walk your dog regulary, play with it (let it retreive a stick/ball, you can even do tha while you sit down if in a bench outside =p ). and make sure it's entertained.

If it has been entertained for a reasonable amount of time (and we are not talking about patting it for 30 minutes) then you can chose to ignore it. Just ignoring it should do, or telling it "no" and then ignoring it. Give it a toy to play with and it should do fine.

On a related topic: Pet shops and such really should explain people what it takes to have a pet. Hell, perhaps even a waiting day of a few days would stop or severely bring back cases of people "instincively' buying a pet without really realizing what they are doing only to abandon the pet when they grow tired of the time they have to invest of it. Like chilren, they don't come with an on and off switch so they may bug you at very uncomfortable moments (but they may also give a lot of fun in return).

just give your dog some attention, a 15 to 20 minute walk will do you dog good. though eventually your dog may claw at your face because it may want to go for a walk really badly, i dont know but my dog usually claws at my face until i take her out.

I have a beagle as well, mine is a dominant arrogant bastard :D, just like me and he's twelve years old( still as mad as he was ten years ago and fast!)

But they are a race of hunters / warriors. THey need exercice, they need open air! If you walk with him intense, i assure you, after that, you don't hear him anymore. And food helps a lot with those guys as well.

My first reaction would be to neutralize the animal as well.

Perhaps if you don't have the guts [and ability to hide the act and remains], take the dag in your car and drive it 50k somewhere and dump it. Let it find it's bleeding way home. Or not.

The problem is that, when I have free time or get out of school early, and no ones at home, most of the time I litterally entertain the dog so that she wont bug me! Everywhere I go, she has to be around me, I try to play with her and such, but she wont do it. She annoys the living hell out of me! So what do I do so I can have some free time without having to entertain the dog?

It probably needs some discipline. I don't know why people get a dog ("BECAUSE IT'S SO CUTE!") and then realize what a hassle it is to take care of them. They're not self-training. I think, if you're too lazy to tame your dog, you should give it away (it's a far better solution than to humanly euthanize it).
