George Carlin is dead.

Wow, this sucks. Everyone cool is dying on me.

There’s going to be a generation of kids who remember George Carlin from “Thomas the Tank Engine.” And on the day after his death, that thought seems particularly sweet and even appropriate.
Other youngsters will recognize his voice as Fillmore from the “Cars” movie — and the “Cars” video game.
But for baby boomers, won’t it be the “seven words” — the ones you can’t say on television — that we instantly associate him? What wonderful irony, right? A fond recollection based on forbidden words!
Here’s the summary that was part of the Associated Press I found this morning:
“When he uttered all seven at a show in Milwaukee in 1972, he was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace, freed on $150 bail and exonerated when a Wisconsin judge dismissed the case, saying it was indecent but citing free speech and the lack of any disturbance.
“When the words were later played on a New York radio station, they resulted in a 1978 Supreme Court ruling upholding the government’s authority to sanction stations for broadcasting offensive language during hours when children might be listening.
“So my name is a footnote in American legal history, which I’m perversely kind of proud of,” he told The Associated Press earlier this year.”

Wow, talk about de ja vu. I too thought he'd died years ago and was recently corrected when discussing him with a friend. I guess now he's rehearsing "Seven Words you can Never Say in Heaven". Rest in peace George, we love ya man.

Wouldn't it be funny if when he got there he found out George Burns really IS God! LOL
