Can rem sleep make your body violently shake ? Can rem sleep make your body violently shake ? Ok I keep having the same experience night after night, I am loosing sleep and going crazy. These dreams mix with reality somehow, real hallucinations . I cant believe I am now experiencing this all the sudden. Lately I woke up to the sound of something crawling on my floor after a sharp screetch . I looked around nothing was in the room , it was loud , stub like crawling that went under my bed,I heard it just seconds after waking up. I freaked out and turned on a light after jumping on my chair to get to it...:uhm: Then after awhile I fell back a sleep with the light on , I kept seeing these image of an ugly figure flashing in my head , but the room around me , everytime I came close to sleep , like some kind of hallucination, then I would doze off and within a few minutes wake up again, but one time I woke up and my body was shaking, i could not speak , I was awake in some sense I can not describe and for whatever reason wether it is in my head or not when I screamed the words "f off" I could not say them , I could not speak at all , I would say that I was fully awake, have experienced these things before so I had the confidence and awake sense to comfront this experience as if a normal situation with the words "f off" the only words I could say were holy words. I was as if awake.. Is this possible for lucid dreaming? What is wrong with me, it keeps happening and Im getting freaked out over it. I could not speak any other words, these are violent dreams that are way too real. I do not believe I see these things durring the day but I admit to seeing a very strange person at college yesterday. He looked evil, his eyes were far too large, inhuman, his hair was black and curly , he had an evil sinister smile, he looked at me and you could feel sickly, I know it sounds crazy but I have not been my best. These thoughts, these dreams are becoming a problem. My body hurts with these attacks my neck is soar, my mind is slipping... I do not want to talk to my parents about it because I know they will not do anything about it and Im not seeing a doctor because I do not want to be comittmented or visit some crazy doctor . I wont do that. What can I do? |
You can visit a shrink is what you can do. |
No way man, no way it cant be that serious |

Look for professional help, posting about such things on a forum will not help you at all. |
Hmmm, if it continues I will take your guys advice. Sometimes im afraid I wont be able to wake myself up though . |
I say set up some mouse traps and turn on a fan or somthing to create white noise in the room. Then take some ibuprofin or asprin and go to sleep. Also are you eating or eating anything different now? food has been known to cause weird effects in people. Seeing or hearing something that scared you and then dreaming about it is not unheard of. The night I went to see "Signs" I had a nightmare which was kinda funny. In the movie "things" are running around on the roof and you can hear them moving around. I had a nightmare of that scene and woke up in the middle of the night to hear the sound of little feet scampering in the ceiling over the bed. I was freaked out at first til I realized I had squirrels. I would then keep a broom by the bed to smack the ceiling and yell at them to be quiet. IMHO your imagination is running overtime and in your half asleep mode your mind is very open to suggestions. |

I've been having vivid dreams lately and sometimes I've had times trying to distinguish real memories from dream memories... Not exactly the most heinous experiences, but bizarre nonetheless. |
I would not rule out paying attention to those dreams. Do they ever show your future? |
Try to sleep early at night. The sleep from 22:00 to 24:00 is most relaxing and refreshing(psychological proved) |
You need to find your local Exorcist ASAP! |

Have you done any hardcore drugs lately? |
The answer to your problem is... ...stop watching t.v.? There's no such thing as evil apparitions. It's just you doing it to yourself. Honestly, there are scarier things in this world than a sinister smile. Promise. If you honestly think these dreams are so "violent," see a doctor. Otherwise, just ignore it. |
If I remember correctly this sort of thing can result from your body not being paralysed properly when you're asleep. There's a lot of areas of the brain that can be responsible. You should see a neurologist about it. |

Ryette ,it was not a smile , it was a person smiling, and he was a very scary person ...smiling at me,and all this shit has been going on so yes it is scary . I never said it was the most frightening thing I have ever seen. Guys who is with me, how women twist every thing under the sun into something else and often negative? Such as said example above Ryette how do you know there is no such thing , the earth was once flat and only birds flew that did not mean such opposites as seen today did not exist or were not possible or found in a similar reality , or invention by man kind of super natural forces unseen. Ryette why are you so critical , obviously I am not at a doctor yet and am asking for help aside from that. If I wanted pofessional help would I really consult a forum!!!?? I dont know, ryette how violent does it have to be ? Waking up shaking uncontrolably but your mind is awake and the same or does it need to be more violent than that to seek help. I guess it is normal to wake up shaking ,and Im just over reacting right. To be paralyzed , and shaking, can not even talk, the eyes spazzing...normal right ? Im a big baby right? Should it be worse?" I still do not think I need to see a doctor, on top of these experiences if you saw someone that looked like a evil person in public and he smiled at you , you in these shoes would be scared too so back off ! Nemmerle Thank you I will consider this ^^^^ |
I don't know about shaking (unless you're having a violent nightmare), but I have woken up once or twice to find myself physically unable to move for a few moments - sleep paralysis. It's rare, but it manages to freak me out every time it happens. Anyway, you'd be much better off getting an expert's opinion of your problem, rather than asking around on an Internet forum... |
I agree with Rookie, I would rather get an experts opinion than a forum. I mean, this condition your in could be fatal. I don't know but from the sounds of it... It's bad. |
I remember I had a dream where I was kicked in the nuts, then woke up and my nuts were soar for 2 days... xD This is REALLY weird though. I've had some dreams live you've had where I felt like I woke up and couldn't speak.. in some horror situation, then just snapped out of it. Happened for a few months but they stopped. |
Perhaps it would be better to get an experts opinion. This condition is by no means fatal. You can die from sleep deprivation, but not from "night terrors", or "sleep paralysis". A lot of people experience the same thing, but not to this extent. The best thing you can do, is educate yourself, by reading up on sleep paralysis. Do not draw any conclusions, without a second opinion from an expert. Getting more info, will allow you to ask better questions when you talk to an expert. That way you will know the best way to deal with the problem. Sleep paralysis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sleep Paralysis Sleep Paralysis Page Quote:

Whether you think I'm mad or not, if these... 'experiences' are as bad as you say, you shouldn't be hesitating to pursue any form of help that you can. I think, that it is not very likely that you would produce such lucid dreams by yourself. There is every possibility that this is something Supernatural, and I would not just let it slide, hoping that it might just go away. Talking to your parents is also a very good idea. Whether it be a nerve problem, a psychological problem, a spiritual problem, or just a bad dream, you should not let yourself suffer in silence. Talking to your parents about anything serious is excruciating, but there are times when you simply must, and I think this is one of them. |
Well if it is paranormal I am getting weak enough for a possesion. I give you that. |
