I read leisurely during the summer, but can't find the time to do so during the school year. In fact, all I can read right now are chapter after chapter after chapter of semi-interesting, largely boring textbooks. Even then, I can barely bring myself to read them, and I've paid $300-400 on them (I technically should make use of them). I know I should read them but I just don't want to.

I read... a lot.
Recently read: Spook Country by William Gibson, The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland, Kiln People by David Brin, Sandworms of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, You Suck by Christopher Moore.

Some of my favoured authors:
- Hunter S. Thompson
- Frank Herbert
- Philip K. Dick
- William Gibson
- Chuck Palahniuk

Kendall, what kind of genres are you into?

:( no bueno.

I love to read. It's a bit of a passion of mine, books comfort me a great deal. Currently I am reading Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (it's easily becoming the best book I've ever read...it's amazing), Beloved by Toni Morrison, and Rant by Chuck Palahniuk.

I recently finished Hamlet, which was extremely enjoyable, too. Othello is next.

EDIT: Ryette <3 elevatormusic. What're your favorite Palahniuk books?

In order, out of the ones I have?
Survivor, Fight Club, Choke, Diary, Haunted, Lullaby, Stranger Than Fiction, Invisible Monsters.

Don't have Portraits of Oregon or Rant.

If you like Palahniuk, check out Douglas Coupland, somewhat similar styles but deals with slightly different aspects of pop culture. Shampoo Planet, Microserfs and Girlfriend in a Coma are all excellent Coupland books.

Edit: Generation X is another excellent Coupland book.

Invisible Monster was my favorite, tied with Haunted. :x

Anyway, I'll check this guy out after I finish the three I have now. ^_^ Thanks for the recommendation!

I only read books if I've got nothing better to do or if I have to. Especially with school involved.

I read a fair bit, but haven't had time to do much recently. I read fiction and non fiction alike.
