Why do I get the feeling that some people believe this to be real? - Ok, so it may have happened at some point, slightly similar, but this is more of a joke than anything else (a darn good one at that).

I've read this before, though the one I read was slightly different (I forget how, I just know that it was). Still, made for a good laugh. Nice Post n0e.
