Default Writing a letter.

So, Ive decide i want to send this chick a letter in the mail asking her out, and Ive got a few questions about addressing the envelope.

Does It need a stamp if she lives in the same town as me?
Do I Need to put a return address on it?
And Do I need to include the postal codes? Does that mean I Have to ask her for hers, cause i kinda wanted it to be a surprise. I Know i could just call her, or ask her out with E-mail, but this is a little more "romantic" And i can include a Card. Thanks in Advance.

Whatever you do, don't call her a chick in the letter

Yes, 42 cents. It'd require a stamp to send a letter to your next door neighbor.

It'd be polite..

Well if she's in the same town, it should still be the same zip code.. you don't need the suffix.

I'd suggest calling her or asking her in person. Snail mail is well.. slow... and you wont know for sure if she actually did receive the mail. Accidents happen and sometimes mail doesnt process.. and sometimes mail arrives at my house and it's never forwarded to me by my parents.

Also.. who emails girls when you want to ask them out :P

Hehe, I Dont think she'd really care, i call her Dude, and Dudette at school all the time.

Oh Really? I could've sworn my friend who lives down the street postal codes last digit differs mine by two?

But anyway, I Already got her A Card, so im gonna get it to her somehow.

I agree, girls like being asked in person better.

Though you'll be a nervous wreck..

Yes, it is true, there are sometimes many postal codes within one city. (Houston area has 107 different postal codes, mainly starting with 770, then there's a few 773 and 775's).

Finding her postal code is easy: if your school has a directory and she's in there, the postal code should be there. Another way: if you have just her address, type that into google maps with the city, and the postal code should pop up over to the left and on the map.

If you know her adress then why not just deliver the letter yourself?

And yes I would write a return adress on it (street, townname, zipcode etc.).

Can't you ask her out in person? Do she know you (and how well does she know you?)?

Ha, snail mail dating is a new one to me. If you're too shy to ask in person then either email her, or phone her. I'm too shy to ask people out in general (well, girls, but yeah...) so if I ever need to ask them out, I do it over the phone. So much more casual, and you get the added bonus of the them not seeing you make all the awkward "Oh shit, I'm nervous..." body gestures.

It is kinda a better idea to ask her in person. If you feel comfortable enough to call her dude and stuff...then you should feel comfortable enough to ask her out. The best way to do it is to tell her what you are planning to do and ask her politely if she would like to go with you. Whatever you do...do not start it off by saying...."What are you doing Saturday night?"

If you must send the letter....I guess it is okay. You might ask yourself...how will she respond? Will she write you back? Tell you next time she sees you? What do you want her to do?
