| Well next week is my mothers birthday and she has been dropping hints for what she would want for weeks now. I don't know why she dsn't just tell me since she makes it so damn obvious. So i decided to go into town and go shopping for a present. You know, get it over and out of the way sort-a-thing. One problem though. I HATE SHOPPING. I arrived in town to find a swarm of what looked like ants just marching everywhere and anywhere. There were absolutely loads of people walking, chatting, smoking, eating, spitting, you name it, it was happening. I felt like turning back. It was like some sort of nightmare dream i was having. No. I have to get this present no matter what. So where to go? Where d'you go to buy your mother a present? I couldn't concentrate, i really couldn't. I looked around to find a suitable shop but i kept getting distracted by people in the market shouting there heads of "Two for one, get your crazy rats now". What the hell? Crazy rats? Who the **** would wan't to buy them? It's Such a stupid dumbass plastic toy that probably cost 5pence to make. Calm down, the present remeber? Yes. Okay, so i went into Debenhams. Mistake Uno. As i walked in, the place was swarming with ladies. From top too toe, all there were was women and not very nice ones either! They were all above the age of 40 i think. Yes, this is the place for mom's present for defo. So where to start? What would mom like? A'ha! Perfume. There was this stand thingy over by the corner, so i checked it out. There were a couple of women pondering upon the perfumes there. I thought that i might look a bit queer buying womens perfume so i tryed to hurry up. I picked up a bottle shaped in a naked body with very large breasts! COOL! Hold on, i should smell it first i remeber thinking. The cap on it was weird so i looked and after much working out, i found where you spray it. OWW... uh oh, i somehow idiotically managed to spary it in my friggin eye! My eyes were stinging like freakin crazy !!! The cap was somehow turned towards where i was facing it. Damn flippin perfume. People started to stare at me as i was in agony so i decided to move on from the perfume out of this doomed shop. I decided to go to the jewelers and see if i can find any jewelry for her. I got on the escalator and just looked around the shop as i waited to arrive on the top floor. My god were the people rude. They were pushing and shoving past me like i didn't facking exist! I tell you now if another one did, i would give them something to rush about for. As i got off, i quickly found a glass case full of necklaces and rings. Good. I can look for something in piece and quiet and take as much time as i want. Bad. Five minutes into decided whether or not i should get her silver or gold, i started to get pissed off. Next to me was some mom and her two daughters of about 3 or 4 - i couldn't care less. She seemed to be buying something too but gordan bennet were those kids annoying. All they did was whine whine whine whine whine... 'Mommy, can i have this, can i have that, she hit me, when are we going, i want a mcdonalds mommy'. I tell you what i couldn't stand it and the thing is, they got closer everytime i moved away! It's like they were doing it on purpose. So i moved away completely. Another fail. Was i ever going to leave with something? So i was out in the street. No luck in the perfume or jewelry. People still continued to push past me without a care in the world. The market people seemed to have turned the volume up on there voice and were now shouting "A pound a bunch.. get your red roses now". If i want roses, i'll pick some out of my garden you damn twit. As if it couldn't get any worst. Well it did. I don't know if you've ever noticed but there always seems to be pigeons flying about, looking for food, that sort of thing. Well one just happened to think i was a bite to eat. There i was, looking for my next shop and one stupid friggin bugger came and literally attacked me near me head! I was trying to whack it out of the way making myself some sort of entertainment for an audience of shoppers who happened to think it was funny to stop, point and laugh at me screaming at this bird. That was it, i'd had enough. I zipped up my coat and went home. I decided that shopping is not for me, so i've orded something of the internet for her which should arrive in due course. So, do you like shopping or do you absolutely despise it like me?

| Your main problem is that you live in Birmingham. Come to somewhere smaller (but big enough that you can still get pretty much anything) like Northampton (ie where I live) and it's much more manageable. Sounds more like you hate large amounts of people in close proximity to you than actual shopping.

| Shop via the net. Much faster, easier, and no gridlock to sit in for 5 hours (Try shopping in DC, we got stuck for FIVE HOURS driving around in a circle not being able to get out).

Sounds more like you hate large amounts of people in close proximity to you than actual shopping. For me it depends what I'm getting. PC equipment is the main one because although there are a number of PC shops (from giants like PC World to independant retailers) the selection is poor and the prices are quite high. That and there's a retailer/etailer in Scotland (Ayr) that I'm very fond of. Also, some things small enough to fit through the letterbox I buy online if the P&P cost is reasonable (cables, adapters and the like). but the simple fact is that I can get to the closest shopping centre in 10 minutes on the bus, and I can get into town in 20 minutes (on the same bus route but going the other way). And I have to go into the town centre 3 days a week to get to Uni anyway. So if I'm going to buy a game, for example, I'll often go to one of the two GAME (cunning name) stores (or HMV or Virgin or Woolworths or Gamestation or CEX or Argos) rather than order online from, say, Play. Might cost me a little bit more but I can take it home with me that day and every-so-often I get a nice suprise of being told my reward card has a few quids worth of...erm...reward on it. Not meaning to treat you like a kid Riot, but you'll probably grow out of it mate. It can be overwhelming to 'take on the mob' when you're by yourself but you get used to it.

| It all depends what i'm shopping for, if its for computer stuff, games, music, or car stuff i like to shop. But for most everything else i hate it. The worst kind of shopping there is has to be clothes shopping, sure you need clothes, but shopping for them is horrible, Everytime i go out clothes shopping, there always ends up being a huge crowd standing around what i want, or there out of my size but have huge stacks of all the other sizes, or i have to wait forever to try stuff on because all the slow people are hogging up the dressing rooms. And i have to mention Walmart. Worst. Store. Ever. |

| Hows this : I dont mind shopping. Jee so you dont either love it or hate it. Sorry, im being petty. But really shop online. I live in London (uk just in case lol) and its a nightmare going shopping. The only thing I ever need to go to the shops for is the daily newspaper and I dont even do that now because the independents website is so good. Oh and cigarrettes, but you're too young to smoke (legally :P lol ).

| I really love shopping. It gives me such a rush to see new items and trying them on. I can't really describe what goes through my mind while at the mall. It is just very exciting for me. I find it really hard to believe that guys don't get the same thrill. I don't know what makes guys so different.

| I don't like to look at stuff for sale when I have no money. I don't like to go shopping if I'm not looking for something in particular. I call this going on a mission. If I'm on a mission to find shoes, I don't go to the clothes section. The only place I consider browsing is at the bookstore. Trying stuff on is a waste of time. As long as I look good and am comfortable there's no need to try it on. I stopped growing 6 years ago I don't need to test every piece of clothing I look at to know it fits. Nuthuggers are for cowboys and fairies. I also tend only to buy Tshirts in stores. My pants and just about everything else I wear I buy online. Being 6'6" tends to limit a guys options as far as clothes shopping goes. As far as shopping for other people. I tend to only buy them something I think they would like. I don't go out shopping for something they told me to get them. I have a pretty good instinct for sensing what someone will appreciate. I also tend to do my xmas shopping continuously throughout the year and just stuff small objects in the closet or on the shelf. Like someone came by my store and sold me an LED flashlight in july and just stuffed it on the shelf for dad and forgot about it till xmas. Cost me 10 bucks. Most of us guys aren't supported by a rich daddy or a rich husband.
