What would YOU like to see added/removed on the forums?

Hey guys/gals,

I would like to open up a discussion with you about what you would like to see either added or removed on the forums. This can include anything that we used to have, or anything you may have seen on another forum and thought of it as a great idea to have here.

Please, no matter how trivial or grand you may think it is, speak your mind and let me know. Just be a little civil mmk? I won't read posts that are either off-topic or just flamebait.

And for those wondering why I'm doing this. Well, you're the ones that make the forums, not the staff. What's the point of having us if you're not around to make it interesting? Anyway, looking forward to seeing some of your ideas.

I'd like the option to not leave your name when leaving negative feedback removed. I think it all too often leads to immature posters leaving neg feedback with commments such as "LOL!"

I know i'm going to get neg reps like the one mentioned above for just suggesting this, but i dont care.

Either that, or just remove the whole rep system.

No, the melee was just a place to make up your best insults and throw them around at each other... The biggest waste of time.

It was fun back in the old days, but people didn't came up with anything good anymore so it was removed.

Now please state your ideas, and let the melee rest now for what it is. You can still name it if you want it back though.

Fair enough....how about post yourself naked thread? Kidding.. I think if reps given both good and bad should be able to be identified on who gave them. After all...you are the one receiving them.

The main reason why the giver isn't named is to prevent people from giving it back without a reason. If everyone basically gave it to everyone else in return, the whole reason for reputation would kind of fall apart.

Okay...I guess part of the rep system is to remain anonymous.

Here are some ideas on the top of my head...

1. How about a real time chatroom. That way members can talk in real time to one another. Maybe explain things in real time?

2. How about a section called "Stomp the moderators." Here members would have the right to criticize a moderator for wrong practice, it should not be controlled by any moderator in the Forum, but someone who is not involved as an overseer in filefront.

3. We need some sort of spell check program with a thesaurus.

A more detailed "profile" option. Perhaps intertwining GF with the GFWiki-thingie (read: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=276056)?

I also would not mind if the Melee was brought back, but then it'd be have to encourage more debates that weren't stupid.

That "Stomp the Mods" sounds like a good idea.
