i read the whole article. pretty interesting but, look at what i highlighted in the quote. i am a first-generation immigrant. but because mexican people tend to be poorer, they cause more crime.

its like saying a mexican that just came here makes $20,000, according to the study he is less likely to cause crime than a third-generation immigrant that makes $20,000.
the point im making is that the majority of mexicans who came here recently are poorer, the kids tend to cause more crime and be in gangs. while a much smaller percentage of third-generation immigrants are in this economic sector.

If you read the whole article than you wouldn't have missed this.
...first-generation Latino immigrants offer a particularly vivid counterexample to this common assumption. “They come into the country with low resources and high poverty, so you would expect a high propensity to violence,” Sampson says. But Latinos were less prone to such actions than either blacks or whites—providing the latest evidence that Latinos do better on a range of social indicators, a phenomenon sociologists call the “Latino paradox.”

Mexican Americans were the least violent among those studied, in large part because they were the most likely to be first-generation immigrants, Sampson adds. The study also revealed that neighborhoods matter. “Kids living in neighborhoods with a high concentration of first-generation immigrants have lower rates of violence,” he explains, “even if they aren’t immigrants themselves

the first sentence i quoted dousnt fully agree with the second half of the article which you quoted.
i think the person should rewrite the article to be a little more clear.

Or maybe you should re read the article? His arguement is that First generation immigrants in particular Hispanics have lower crime rates in nieghborhoods comprable in socioeconmic status.

You might not undrstand... have you ever had a girlfriend or been in that situation?
If not than you could not understand.
No offence but that is how it is dude.

What if the guy who’s starting the fight is smaller, weaker, and younger than the guy he's picking a fight with. Would you still say the bigger guy should laydown and beat the shit out of the younger guy?

In that situation most people would say just leave the smaller guy alone. By your argument you would call the bigger guy a sissy/pansy if he did.

The reality of the situation is that fighting isn't what you do to resolve your problems. For someone who's almost 40 I would think you would've realized that by now. If fighting was something mature people did to resolve their differences, you would see people throwing down on their bosses and fist fights in congress.

Me and all the hispanics I know are far from "poor".
Maybe some of lies you have been told by the government and media has turned you into sheeple. My parents are both legally U.S. citizens. The only time you hear about Hispanics on the news is when there's been a murder/rape/theft. The situation today is akin to a lighter version of the hatred toward Blacks in the 1950s. Much of the media is racially biased and only wants you too see whatever they want you to.

If the smaller guy punches me than yes I will break his nose.
If he just throws some words at me I will most likely laugh and walk away but sorry, I refuse to back down from anyone who touches me unless they are female, and even then if the bitch kicks me in the nuts I will throw her to the ground also.
People should have common sense not to touch a stranger so whatever happens they deserve.

Note the word defence I used not offence ;)
I really didn't start many fights in school but had my share of defending myself from the ones who did.
You gain respect fighting back not running away.
now of course at my age I wouldn't go punching my Boss or a coworker, lets get real for a second;)
But again, if a coworker punched me I really can't tell you what would happen. Most likely lay them out and deal with it later?
or if it was a guy that I knew I could take down with ease I'd just have them fired then find them at their fav bar and have a nice little chat with him :)

You've never seen video footage of Congress people throwing down? Happens in all Countries :)

I'll tell you something about girls and earning respect. Girls like leaders. They're attracted to men who can solve problems and bring people together. If you can turn your enemies into your friends without throwing a punch then you will be able to gain respect wherever you go.

Respect isn't won, its earned.

So after reading what I just wrote you are saying girls like wimps?
Most girls do not like wimps, well maybe the geeky ugly ones but who wants those ;)
We are talking high school here so if you are trying to tell me a guy who walks away from someone who just punched him will be respected I must laugh.
He will be laughed at by both the girls and the guys:lol:

Respect is earned alright but not given away.

That's amazing that you gathered only "girls like wimps" from what I posted. That's just amazing.
