eh kinda. Not to long ago it was owned by Brits, but as many of their weapons are actually produced here in America you get the unique combination of German technical engineering melding with American Quality machining and *BOOM*, magic happens.

If you want a quality long range AR, look at the Armalite AR-10T. Chambered in 7.62 NATO, it's a really accurate rifle. I've shot one before, but I don't own one (yet).

DPMS Panther Arms makes a buch of ARs in calibers aside from 5.56/.223. .204 Ruger, .260 Remington, .300 SAUM. Great for long range shooting.

Im kinda spaced out for 7.62N rifles at the moment. Got my Springer M14 and my G3. my AR15 is rather long in the tooth however and as my nephew is approaching training age with a rifle it will probably go over to him. Cant imagine life without at least ONE AR15 though.

If you want a really fun rifle try out the Vulcan Armament V-73. I picked one up a couple of years ago at a gunshow for about $780, it's basicly an American made copy of the Israeli Galil ARM. It's a beast of a rifle, weighing in at more than 8 1/2 Lbs, and the MSRP on one of these babies is about $1700. But lemme tell ya', it's a bitch to hump but it's a great shoot. Mine's even got the bottle-opener!

Galil? no thanks. 8lbs of rifle doesnt bother me as much as the poor sights and limited use of it. Would be fun to bring to the range and show off though. Good price though. For that much i would be hard pressed not to buy it for prosperities sake

Oh man, no kidding. Once Black Rifle Disease hits, it just never leaves. Let's see... M-16A1, M-4 with an Aimpoint CompM3, foregrip and SureFire, and a long range M-16A4 with a 20x Leo scope and a bipod. Of course, the military designations just used for simplicity's sake.

You feel dirty to, i was a Battle rifle snob having grown up shooting my old mans M14 (M1A actually) and vowed to never play with some plastic poodle popper. Well i started shooting them in the military, began to really like the ergonomics fit and operation and now i own a Colt HBAR with free floating barrel 18" barrel, Tapco high weld fixed stock and 4 rail hand guard with a surefire handgrip and an old ass Aimpoint COMP ML
