Hmm, so, if one bought directly from China, how much would 20 or so of these M14 replicas cost, or how much would Type-56s or SKSes cost?

If they were made after 1986 you can't buy them.

Playing the Devil's Advocate here, lets say you have an M14 copy circa 1985. First you are going to have to pay the shipping fee for getting the Rifle across the Pacific. Second, you are going to have to pay a $400 tax because it is a select-fire weapon. Thirdly, you are going to have to pay the seller whatever they want; because pre-1986 is a limited supply, expect at least $6-10,000 dollars. And the last thing, you are going to need to pay a transfer fee from a federal firearms license holder so the seller can legally ship the rifle to the FFL and have them transfer it to you.

Yes I agree... They are hard to find at gun shows. I'd have to take out a morgage payment to get one because of the price lol:lol: I still want one though. Hopefully one day.

Ill be getting one of these soon. 9mm version with the law enforcement modification. Stainless steel, standard sights, and hopefully I'll be able to find a matchweight or compensator in 9mm. If not Im going to get one machined. Might cost a pretty penny but its worth it to me.

So, if one was to procure these weapons through less-than-perfectly legal means, how much would they cost? Purely hypothetical, of course.

My dad won't allow me to own firearms but I defintly want to start collecting once I'm out of the house. What would you guys suggest as a sort of "starter" gun? I imagine something in .22? I mean in terms of both price and ease of maintenance/storage/legal problems.

I started off with .22s at around 5 years old. Jumped to .45 ACP and .30-06 after that. Here are a couple from my collection, I really need to take pictures.

Enjoy

If any of you are interested in seeing more, I'll take pictures. Theres another No.4, 4 Colt 1911s, a Webley Mk.IV, several lugers, some more SMLE's.

Heh, for price, check your Sunday paper for the local sporting goods store. Mine always has a Mosin-Nagant for sale for under $100, and last week has a Yugo Mauser 8mm, and some Polish weapon, for under $200 each. Keep in mind this is in CALIFORNIA. You, living in a state that surely is less anal-retentive about firearms, should find something cheaper.
