Re: Airsofting Talk

FAMAS. Or G3sg1.

Actually, what are the Canadians using/have used withing the past 50 years?

If you could find a FN-FAL Airsoft, you could probably get some surplus stocks and handles and such.(I think that your army used FN-Fals, at least...)

SolidifiedPenguin October 1st, 2006 10:39 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Pro: bullpup design - longer range/accuracy
- EG560 motor, extremely high rate of fire
Con:Old design(internally)
-Awkward lookin
-Wierd to hold
-French (=P)

AK -
Pro: One of the sexiest guns every
-totally badass
-accurate, good rate of fire, best gun for money as said by most
-Large magazine capacity

Con:-Magazine is large
-quite common(depends where you are though)
-hard to customize cosmetically.

Oh, and if you want to fight for freedom, then you would be a Freedom Fighter, not a terrorist ;)

Canada hasnt use FN-FAL for a LONG time

Right now for standard rifleman we use the C7/C8 which is the canadian version of your M16/M4, made by Diemaco and not Colt. Also we have Full auto function instead of 3 round burst.

Crazy Wolf October 1st, 2006 10:40 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Nothing about the M4 or M16 there, though!

I think I prefer the M16 to the M4A1. That longer barrel makes it easier on my arm, and makes it more accurate.

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:42 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

we use m16 variants AFAIK

i like the bullpupness of the FAMAS, so i'm leaning towards that, I like m4's and m16's but i'd rather save that for when I get a real one (well AR 15 anyway, cuz they are so awesome). i really don't want to spoil myself...maybe I should go french.

SolidifiedPenguin October 1st, 2006 10:43 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Get a G36. Very good.

I personally, though, would get a G3 SG1. or an Ar15 variant and mod the HELL out of it.

Crazy Wolf October 1st, 2006 10:45 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Get one of the M14s! They are purty, and wooden, and hefty, and ackerate, and fun! Besides, they just seem so much cooler than the AKs and M16s everyone else has.

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:47 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

The G36 doesn't appeal to me that much.

Wolf, yeah I don't know how I would handle the m4 given it is so short...if they could make a m16 with an m4's stock that would be awesome IMO.

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:48 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

m14's are pretty expensive here, so i don't know, maybe sometime in the future though.

SolidifiedPenguin October 1st, 2006 10:49 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

They have those. The company has their own crazy designation for it. Or you can buy an M16 then get another stock and slap it on there. Again, AR-15s are like the most pimpable gun ever. Part for everything. You can turn an M4 into a full blown sniper system, you can change your M16 into a support machinegun. You can do anything with them.

Crazy Wolf October 1st, 2006 10:51 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Actually, the Well gun I have(spring), you can put on any stock that fits, I have a collapsible stock on my M4A1, I'd put it on the M16 if the M16's stock wasn't broken, and if I didn't mind not having a stock on the only automatic airsoft rifle I have(the only other automatic I have is a Glock18)

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:51 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

yeah, that's a big pro on that, something to think about.

SolidifiedPenguin October 1st, 2006 10:54 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Wait, are you planning to get a good quality japan Tokyo Marui/CA gun or a cheap chinese piece of plastic like WELL or CYMA?!

And where are you planning to buy from in Canada.

All the retailers in BC was raided like a month ago, for no real reason. And the retailers havnt said much since. But all the other ones are still good, and can ship to you.

They havnt done anything illegal so i dont know what the hells going on.

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:56 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

I'm going to get a TM from http://www.ascarmoury.com/ eventually.

SolidifiedPenguin October 1st, 2006 10:59 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Are you on Airsoft Canada Forums? You know what you need to do to buy from them right? By the way, how old are you?

WarHawk109 October 1st, 2006 10:59 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

yes, i plan to get verified eventually.

Re: Airsofting Talk

oh, haha, ok.

Crazy Wolf October 1st, 2006 11:35 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Hmm, if the attachment for the stocks is universal, then you could get a the cheap Chinese one I got for $60 USD, then get the good TM product.

Re: Airsofting Talk

I know, Only American springs, and Japanese electrics for me! I haven't used Gas guns yet.

WarHawk109 October 4th, 2006 10:13 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

hey SP, do you know if I were to get my PAL would I be able to import airsoft guns? I really don't want to spend twice what these guns are worth, I really want a Tanaka Kar98 but I'm not willing to spend the 800+ bucks it would cost in Canada.

Crazy Wolf October 4th, 2006 10:50 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Don't you live in BC or Alberta or someplace close to the southern border? Make friends with an inhabitant of Idaho or Washington or Montana, and have them buy the airsoft for you.:p

WarHawk109 October 4th, 2006 11:06 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

1. i would have to smuggle it accross the border, which if I am caught will not be fun (body cavity checks), and 2 airsoft imports to the states require a red tip which is lame.

I'm hoping a PAL will allow me to import

Crazy Wolf October 4th, 2006 11:08 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Oh, right, legal imports to the USA. Somehow, I manage to see, um, other people, people who are definitely not me, purchase untipped Tokyo Marui products in the USA.

WarHawk109 October 4th, 2006 11:11 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

i really hate dumb laws

Crazy Wolf October 4th, 2006 11:17 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Yes. I can understand requiring the red tip, but in conjunction with the CA law that requires one to be 18 to play with them(the same age at which you can get a long gun), it is no good. Maybe have an orange cap on the tip, which could be removed fairly easily?

WarHawk109 October 4th, 2006 11:23 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

well, i wouldn't mind having the orange tip or the 18+ requirment (which most fields have anyway AFAIK) if it were legal to import!

It makes no sense to confiscate these things but they do.

Crazy Wolf October 4th, 2006 11:25 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Hmm, would disassembling them and then shipping the parts work?

WarHawk109 October 4th, 2006 11:35 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

no garuntee, and i wont spend the money trying

Crazy Wolf October 4th, 2006 11:37 PM

Re: Airsofting Talk

Hmm, buy two, ship them to me, I'll see what I can do:evilgrin:(of course, one would be mine)
