The Freedom tower being built in it's place will stand as a testament to the willpower of humans.
I like the old WTC more, and I firmly belive the design of the towers was structurally sound. Also, the WTC was the last of the great bulidings with an actual style to it, like the Chystler and Empire State bulidings before it. The Freedom tower is so new looking that it reminds me to much of corprate america. The style of the WTC was simpley unique, it is a great arhitechural and human loss to our nation.

And before people say the WTC sucked because it was flawed I have to say that no buling before or since then has been hit by a several ton jet going 500 mph. It is a testament to the design that the buling was able to take the hit for so long ever though it had all support in the middle.

It was the jet fueled fire that weaked the steel enough for the floors to start pancaking on top of one another that caused it to fall.

The design of the building held up very well to the initale impact, but the wieght of the floors on the top falling on the floords below was just to much

I can't believe it's been 5 years... it seems like it happened so recently. Time's passed so fast.

I still remember exactly what happened though. I think it affects me more now than it did then (I was only like...10.)

I remember for the first two years after we always spent almost the entire day in school reflecting on it and everything. And for several weeks after the attack, our school played patriotic songs over the intercom every morning, and we made it a point to say the pledge and stuff. Even now, if you don't stand for the pledge, your subject to ISS for every period you refuse to stand, for the rest of the year. Pretty harsh, and it didn't used to be that way.

And now no one inside school really recognizes it at all. That's a good thing, by the way, that we've moved on and aren't still putting aside our lives for it. ("Documentaries" on t.v. used solely to improve ratings don't count, as I think they piss the majority of us off...) But it's good to see that despite that, people still pay remembrance to all the people that died that day.

Anyway, to sum it up... I'll always remember the thousands who died and honor the men and women who risked and paid their own lives to save the lives of the people who were victims in the attack.

won't you help to sing

these songs of freedom?

Again, this is not a debate, people. This thread is a tribute to those who died in the 9/11 attacks. If you want to debate, argue in the threads within The Pub, not here. I will delete any arguements going on in here, continued issues will result in stronger warnings/punishments.
