Do you use drugs to be entertained @ a LAN Party? The above article takes a look into the underground counter culture of drug use in the gaming world. It covers how at LAN parties you might see the typical junk food and caffine binge for energy with some more obscure things like Marijuana. The article even reveals some strange use of drugs and gaming like methamphetamines and even LSD!

Personally when I've gone to LAN Parties it's mostly pizza-beer and cigarettes. I know some gamers are sterotyped as stoners but that's not really the focus of the parties i've been to.

What do you guys think about what's being said about this darker side of the gaming culture? does it reveal a few truths amongst misconceptions? im interested in what fellow gamers have to say.

So you like to use other types of drugs while gaming, while some prefer to be layed back and stoned.
No difference really oher than one is legal and one is not, due to politcal reasons, of course.
Just enjoy yourself without harming others and all is fine.

its all good, what ever people use to get happy is fine as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

i never heard of the sterotype of stoner gamers before.

I would never have thought that LAN parties would be high on drug use.

However, I have never been to one so I cannot say.

Also, I choose to echo the sentiment issued by others, if its legal, enjoy it in moderation, and make sure you dont hurt anyone in the process.

I've been to a few large scale organised LAN parties. At one event, having tired of gaming for a while near the end of the day, I went outside to get some air. All you could smell was weed.

The security guys quickly nabbed the people responsible though.

well no I don't use drugs while playing games...but acid might be fun playing Ut2004 with.
