Serbia Deploys Peacekeeping Forces To U.S.

Quote:

BELGRADE–Serbian president Vojislav Kostunica deployed more than 30,000 peacekeeping troops to the U.S. Monday, pledging full support to the troubled North American nation as it struggles to establish democracy.

Serbian peacekeeping troops patrol Washington, D.C.

"We must do all we can to support free elections in America and allow democracy to gain a foothold there," Kostunica said. "The U.S. is a major player in the Western Hemisphere and its continued stability is vital to Serbian interests in that region."

Kostunica urged Al Gore, the U.S. opposition-party leader who is refusing to recognize the nation's Nov. 7 election results, to "let the democratic process take its course."

"Mr. Gore needs to acknowledge the will of the people and concede that he has lost this election," Kostunica said. "Until America's political figures learn to respect the institutions that have been put in place, the nation will never be a true democracy."

Serbian forces have been stationed throughout the U.S., with an emphasis on certain trouble zones. Among them are Oregon, Florida, and eastern Tennessee, where Gore set up headquarters in Bush territory. An additional 10,000 troops are expected to arrive in the capital city of Washington, D.C. by Friday.

Though Kostunica has pledged to work with U.S. leaders, he did not rule out the possibility of economic sanctions if the crisis is not resolved soon.

"For democracy to take root and flourish, it must be planted in the rich soil of liberty. And the cornerstone of liberty is elections free of tampering or corruption," Kostunica said. "Should America prove itself incapable of learning this lesson on its own, the international community may be forced to take stronger measures."

Dude, you scared me for a second. For the first couple lines I was like, "Was ist das? NEIN!" And then I released it was false. lol.

Anyways, as long as they keep their bearded peacekeepers out of Texas, I won't have to send in any Texas Rangers. :p

The beauty of democracy is that it delivers freedom into the hands of people who spend the rest of their lives trying to give it away again.

I think any military would be better off then normal citizens would if they invade us. excellent example, Iraq, iraqies have rifles, RPGs, etc. etc. they're losing bad. Same out happen here, it just depends because that military woul dbe mechanised and armored.

The article is very humorus too, I wonder if the rest of that website is like that.

Something that would never have happened if not for a certain act of international war criminalism.

And extra fat might help stop bullets.

I think that it would be the other way round. The invading army would pay special attention to wiping out anyone with a gun.

Problem with the insurgency in Iraq is that the whole area is basically flat featureless terrain that you cant hide in, broken up by easily isolated urban areas that you cant flee from. Look at how Fallujah went down.

America has a whoooooooole lot of variable terrain from which local lads can bring pain and misery from. multiple roads in and out of any populated area (patroling all of them? not gonna happen)

large population of recently released military personnel who retain their skills and abilities. (something like 1 million people under the age of 45 who have been in the military though are no longer active duty)

I pity any poor SOB who gets peacekeeping duty in this country.

Not to mention all the hunters and recreational shooters. There's at least a couple million amateur snipers right there.

Heh. It's funny that Gore actually did win the election. America is not a "true democracy" precisely because he didn't become president. I don't care now, either way. And anyway, I do like The Onion. It's some great spoofs.

I'm uh, pretty sure you'd hurt something.

I knew someone that did something like that once. Blew his fence up, and all the windows in the houses around him. He's in jail for some sort of felony, now... :lookaround:

:uhh: You think?

Explosives are perfectly safe to play with provided you do it in the proper environment.
Of course with the recent anti-terror legislation you can't have any fun with explosives anymore incase someone goes and kills a whole bunch of people. Stupid terrorists spoiling it for everyone else, at least they haven't gotten around to banning fireworks yet.
