Funny you mention this. I was watching The Day After Tomorrow last night, which deals with global warming and a possible '21st Century Ice Age'. I believe one of the quotes from the film was:
"Humanity survived the ice age centuries ago. Mankind is more than capable of surviving this one. We have technology. But do we have the power?"
Which actually makes a lot of sense to me. For example, take the war in Iraq. People are trained in the Army for that. 60 years in WW2 people signed up for it, or were chosen by the Government. People these day are lazy. Yeah, we have the technology, but really, can the public be arsed to try and survive? Maybe we don't have the willpower.
We'll have to wait and see...
My personal opinions are not endorsed by FileFront. But they should be.
Why would you find 'a couple of hundred years' depressing? You won't be here (unless you succesfully develop a time machine, or perfect kyrogenic freezing. In either case, call me).
Ok, little misunderstanding, the day after tommorow was inacurrate, it could not happen in 3days, but if that current shuts down it will happen in 3years, at least the temp drop, the rest takes time, like glaciers and such, but you know that the day after tommorow was based on the theories, not the other way around

92% of teens have moved onto rap. If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your signature
anything is possible, and the current is indeed the most valuable thing to keep us safe. But do not expect "day after tomorrow" things within a hundred years. temp may drop slighty more then we used too, but the rest takes a hell of a lot o time, more time then you and your grandchildren will be here.
personal opinions are to be shoved up your personal ass.
